Currently on a 19 red win streak, with all of the wins being above £10k apart from Toms game (which was still a OPW). I'm really excited about this streak, especially as I don't know whats coming next. I know that the current best streak is 25 games (first 25 games) so I have got my eye on that target.

I'm praying for it to continue. Has anyone got the details of the 25 games that previously held the record? We are also currnetly on a 6 filming day streak and I believe Walters game was the only blue win in all of february! Come on guys!!!

£35,000 - Clare - RECORD EQUALLING!!!!!
£20,000 - Johnny
£23,250 - Patricia

£10,000 - Rich
£11,173 - Hannah
£12,000 - Den

£12,500 - Jackie
£50,000 - Doreen
£10,000 - Russ

£14,000 - Aby

£8,000 - Tom
£16,500 - Dan
£42,000 - Julie

£25,000 - Jimmy
£26,000 - Nagib
£30,000 - Carla

£12,750 - Sue
£21,000 - Melissa

You can find a full list of every game and the results in the stats section on the site here... http://www.dond.co.uk/deal_or_no_deal_stats.php

If you want full details of any of the games you just click on the players name and it will give you a box by box account of the show :D

Another interesting point. A lot of viewers really doubt whether £10-20k can be life changing. On Saturday, we had a bit of a reunion and the following players were out on that night. Every one of these players dealt. Some of those players went out on the top of their game and some could have had a lot more if they'd carried on.

I can say that everyone of those players, regardless of any proveout offers, has had their lives changed for the better. We all dealt for between £10-20k (apart form Mels bonus £1k) and we all had bigger money to aim for and none of us have even a smidge of a regret.

Just a little minor rant to any of the (thankfully very few) people who can ever take negative opinion of a £10-20k win. Absolutely none of us would do anything different if the boxes were jumbled up again at the point of dealing, even those who started to then get really high offers.

So if I'm not around on these forums and anyone ever deals for decent money and the proveout gives someone the opportubity to say "I bet (s)he will regret that" or "(s)he shouldn't have done that", then direct them to this post.

One thing I have noticed is that no-one ever regrets a deal, they only regret the no deals.

£10,000 - Russ
£14,000 - Aby
£15,000 - Andreas
£16,500 - Dan
£21,000 - Melissa
£15,000 - Clare-Louise
£11,750 - Ash
£20,000 - Alfonso

Thanks Kes, these are excellent stats! :D

Those first 25 shows that resulted in red wins are especially interesting because on
17 occasions a blue amount came to the table vindicating the overwhelming majority of decisions to deal!

However there are some crumbs of comfort for Wakeyists.
Haleem had 35K in his box but dealt for less,
Shell had 20K but dealt for less
and Natalie and Mally could have won £250,000 but dealt for less.

Also Lynne, Mark and Jennifer had OPWs by going all the way to 2 box before dealing.
Surprisingly only Oli (5K) went all the way of those first 25.

I think one or two people in this forum already know if the 25 show red win streak has been broken! :D

I'm not one of them, but I would bet that this time next week we'll be celebrating that it has!!

I think some people would rather see a week of two power 5 wins and 4 blue wins rather than 6 £10k - £20k deals, but there you go. I guess that's what caused so much ill-feeling this time last year, and then the banker start to really mix things up around Easter time (he was all over the place with the offers in games like £21k Dave's, Caron's and £14,900 Alex etc.) :)

I don't personally becuase I always try to see it from the player's eyes, but players and audience can greatly differ!

It's lots of blue wins caused by really bad offers that would make me want to switch off!! I think I must have missed about half the games from last September. :(

I'm always surprised when people prefer to see blue wins. It's almost as if they are watching the show hoping for people to do badly. I know you are just pointing that out James1978 and it probably isnt your opinion, but i do find it a strange thing to believe that some people would want to see that.

If I could let you know a little bit about my group when i was on there. We were speaking about ti on the weekend actually when some of us met up at the reunion. We were a group of mixed financial targets but we did have one thing in common and that was the strong desire to see each other go home with a decent amount of money. I suppose you could say that made us more cautious players, but it did mean that we have had this huge streak of wins and no tears. Regarding power 5 wins, as Dan said earlier, not one of us had any regrets if there was more money in our game after a deal. I was one of those contestants that could have had more money if I had played on, but to this day i can say, with my hand on my heart, that i have not had one regret since that day. That is because I know i made the right deal for me, at the right time, and, if the game had gone the other way and the £15k was the most money in my game, everyone would have said that i had done the perfect thing.

Also, speaking as a contestant, and as someone who watches it, what has to be taken into account is the fact that an amount between £10-£15k can be as life changing as £35-£250k. I know i can say that my life certainly has changed since my DOND experience, and i know everyone who i was lucky enough to share the experience with will say the same, however much they won.

Most of the time I would rather see a variety including a bit of Wakeyism even if that includes a blue win or two. Given the current record-challenging streak though I'd be happy to see cautious red deals for the next 6 games!

I don't think people do want to see blue wins as such - but most people want to see at least a proportion of contestants take a chance at going for the really big money, and occasional blue wins are an inevitable consequence of that. That was the point he was trying to get across I think.

Nobody likes to see people go away with next to nothing (well not many do anyway) but the possibility of that happening is an important part of the show. If everyone was guaranteed £1,000 at the start it would be a lot less interesting.

I take your point there. I think seeing it from a purely audience vantage point is different from my ex-contestant point of view.

I can see the excitement of the gamble for a possible massive amount of money, but when you get to know contestants personally, gambles sort of pale into insignificance when you realise how much £10k could help them out.

You explained that a lot better than I did Power 5! :)

I just remember Feb 08 being quite similar to now but due to different posters being around then, there was a lot more negativity (and I was getiing in a lot more arguments sticking up for the dealers!). The deals being taken were actually quite reasonable for the boards unlike the late spring/summer, but hardly anyone was playing to the end, and there was little variety. I actually only just realised Feb 08 had only one blue win (Chris' in love week), just like this year, it was a much better month than people seem to give it credit for!!

Indeed many were going for it on a great board, had a bad round, dealt later for less having taken a risk, then having more in the box!

Still this run can go on as long as it likes for all I care! It's a shame Tom didn't win a couple of thousand more to make it a conecutive run of 5-figure wins but there you go. Someone has to win a blue sooner or later I guess.

I think the difference was that that came during a disappointing era where nobody was winning big at all, the gamblers were getting unlucky and getting blues and others were dealing early - there's only so many £15k wins you can watch before it all becomes much the same, unless there's lots of really memorable characters.

This time we've had a good few months with some big wins mixed in with the more cautious deals. So something for everyone really. Even the Wakey Army wouldn't have been as pissed off as they were last year I suspect!

There was that extraordinary week last February where the 250k came to the table 3 times in 4 days (Kate, Justin and Nicola), which fuelled the Wakeyists, and I remember I wasn't enjoying the forums as much back then.

Personally, I'd rather see a load of decent, but not huge wings than 2 P5 wins and 4 blue wins. For me, it's all about the characters, rather than the money won and how they play the game. That said, there have been some very enjoyable blue wins (Walter immediately springs to mind), but obviously I wish they'd won more.

The current streak is surely because the banker has been giving generous offers lately and people haven't felt they have been forced to gamble because of poor offers.

It's time for another chart!

Rather than plot moving averages, what I've done here is to plot something which I'm calling 'moving quartiles'. For every game, I've got my spreadsheet to calculate the following:

MINIMUM (blue line). That's the smallest win out of the preceding 22 games.
LOWER QUARTILE (orange line). That's the amount of money that three-quarters of the preceding 22 players exceeded.
MEDIAN (yellow line). That's the amount of money that half of the preceding 22 players exceeded.
UPPER QUARTILE (green line). That's the amount of money that one-quarter of the preceding 22 players exceeded.
MAXIMUM (dark red line). That's the biggest win out of the preceding 22 games.

EDIT: The up-to-date chart is now later in this thread.

The MINIMUM ranges from 1p to £1000 (Nov 05).
The LOWER QUARTILE ranges from £41.75 (Sep 07) to £13,062.50 (Mar 09).
The MEDIAN ranges from £1125 (Sep 08) to £23,250 (Feb 07).
The UPPER QUARTILE ranges from £10,000 (Jun 08) to £38,750 (Mar 07).
The MAXIMUM ranges from £20,000 (Sep/Oct 08) to £250,000 (Jan 07).

At the time of writing, the current scores are as follows.

MINIMUM: £1
LOWER QUARTILE: £12,562.50
MEDIAN: £15,750
UPPER QUARTILE: £24,000
MAXIMUM: £50,000

Anybody understand all of that?
