Hot on the heels of last years hit release of the Deal or No Deal Interactive DVD game that gave you the chance to play your own game of Deal or No Deal in the comfort of your own home, comes the new Family Challenge Deal or No Deal DVD game. This new release gives you the same chance to star in your own game of Deal or No Deal, but has some great extras and improvements over the original game that will make it a must for any fan of the show.
The first biggest improvement over the original version of the DVD is in the box selection process, this was the biggest complaint in the original version as the selection process was so slow it made playing the game very frustrating. This has been vastly improved in the Family Challenge version, and it greatly speeds up the whole game. Another addition to speed up game play, is the option to turn off the audience/Noel/contestant reactions after every box opening. Another addition that was missed from the original game, is that now you can choose your own box number to play with rather than being given the same box number every time, so you can now play using your favourite lucky number.
These improvements alone would make this version a must for any fan of the show, but the other added extras top off the DVD nicely. There are in game features to add that personal touch to your game and help give the feel and atmosphere of the show. You can ask advice from your fellow contestants on the wings, get Noel to help with his infamous lucky charms, ask the banker a question, and even hear one of the Banker's classic poems. There is also a featurette section called "The Dream Factory" which gives 5 video features of Noel, the contestants, The banker, and behind the scenes footage. This is a fantastic bonus for fans of the show, and provides some great comedy moments from the show.
There is a new line up of 22 contestants from the show who open their boxes on the wings for you in their own unique styles, and also offer advice and support for you throughout your game.
There are 3 different game modes to the DVD, these are Single Player, Family Challenge, and Player Vs Banker. A full explanation of these different games is listed below.
In the Single Player game you get the chance to play in your own game of Deal or No Deal, just as you would if you appeared on the show. It's you pitting your wits against the banker to see who can come out on top.
A twist on the standard Deal or No Deal game, where up to 5 players can battle against each other to see who can beat the banker. In this game you all play the game together deciding which boxes to choose, but when it comes to the Banker's offer you each make your own decision on whether you would like to Deal or No Deal. At the end of the game you find out who made the right decision and beat the banker.
Player Vs Banker
This is a 2 player game where one player is the contestant playing a standard game of Deal or No Deal, and the other player takes on the role of the banker making the offers, and trying to outwit the Banker.
Overall the new Family Challenge Deal or No Deal DVD is a great improvement over the original DVD game, and is certainly a must buy for fans of the show. The improved game play and added extras add a great feel to the game, and will keep fans of the show captivated, and coming back to play time and time again.
