Hi!
I'm new to this forum... well no that's a lie, I've been a lurker for a couple of months and have just decided to register!

Anyway. How many people have seen on Ebay people advertising Deal Or No Deal PC games? Kind of like this one...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-BEST-DEAL-OR- ... dZViewItem

Just in case you haven't purchased one yet: DON'T!!! I did yesterday and was sooo annoyed when what I was sent was an e-mail with five links on it, all pointing towards websites with DOND games on it. Oh, and three of the links don't even work!

To save people wasting money on it, here are the links:

http://www.dilan4.freeserve.co.uk/maths/dond.swf

http://www.qatopia.co.uk/BeatTheBroker/ ... roker.aspx

http://www.nbc.com/Deal_or_No_Deal/game/

http://www.geocities.com/dodgypa/deal.html

http://www.gamerfreak.net/swf/game_1108.swf

I'm so angry people are making money out of links, and links that don't even work! So help me out here and make it be known that people should not be doing this! I feel like a boycott.

Has anyone else purchased this from Ebay? What did you think?

What a rip off! At least the guy's only charging 99p. It could be worse! I spose you would guess from the price that you're not going to get a bunch of all singing, all dancing, high fallutin' software.

I wonder why the http://www.dilan4.freeserve.co.uk/maths/dond.swf one doesn't work? It was ok before and was probably the most realistic UK game online. The link on dond.co.uk is still there but of course it doesn't work either.

I'm really sorry to hear you have been ripped off Rachelle :(

While reading your post I thought the links you posted looked VERY familiar, if you check out the DOND Games link I have at the top of this site you will find it takes you to a page where I have links to various DOND games I have found on the Internet and have listed for people to enjoy.

It looks as though this person has copied this list and decided to try and make a quick buck :? as it's exactly the same and in the same order you have listed them!!!

I noticed that this morning muttleee and have emailed the site owner to find out why it's disappeared. I fear that C4 or Endemol may have stepped in as it was such a close copy of the game format :( I'll you know if I hear anything back.

You're unfortunately spot on. The guy who I assume is responsible for the game posted on DS (or the dark side, as some of you people like to call it), saying that Endemol had sent a nice little email. Shame.

Oh dear, that's sad to hear :(

It's a shame that they don't focus some of their efforts into closing down the fake merchandise available on ebay, surely that is doing the branding/image more harm than a few websites with games on :?

I have... aherm... posted a little protest because I'm so mad that people are being ripped off like this!
Now I've seen the links are posted on the 'Games' section of this website it's made me even more mad!
Here's my little petition...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WARNING-ABOUT-DEA ... dZViewItem

I don't usually do things like this, hehe. But today I think I should because I can't believe people will fall for it!

If you're an ebay member, click on the 'ask seller a question' on that page and post comments to encourage my petition, such as "Yeah, get rid of these rip-offs!" or something... because I kind of feel all alone on my little ebay page...

:D

Hey people. For those who'd be interested in a Deal or No Deal PC game, although I'm aware of existing games which are really neat, I have to design something for programming class and I thought why not do something myself?

Seeming as I'm fairly proficient at programming, I'm going to make (well...I HAVE been making) a snazzed up DOND (UK) game with a couple of extra twists that do not reside in other games I've seen released; you'll see them when/if you check it out ;). Hopefully it'll end up having a more 'Game-Like' feel, than just a regular program with some background algorithms, which is probably bad for a work environment - but much better for a home-environment!

I'll be selling it on eBay for only £5 a piece, which I thi-

Just kidding! It'll be completely free of charge - I'll even host the files :)! I'll keep you all posted.
