---

And now for the game!

I gave various hints in each round last week. Here is a summary of the hints:

At Round 1, Saperogo wrote:
11 - 1p

Perfect start!

That is the only blue that will still be there next week...

At Round 2, Saperogo wrote:
19 - £100,000

If only that weren't the second highest amount on the board...

At Round 3, Saperogo wrote:
20 - 10p

I see a 10! Remember that game 10 is next week! Could 10 possibly play an important factor next week...?

At Round 4, Saperogo wrote:
8 - £35,000

Well, that's not terribly great. But the £250,000 is still in play and we still have the potential of having our first fantasy quarter-millionaire! (...not that it would matter by next week...)

At Round 5, Saperogo wrote:
What a board! This is the first time the £250,000 has remained in play at 5-box since Week 2! But... there are still 5 boxes in play. At this time next week, there will be 4...

At Round 6, Saperogo wrote:
Speaking of JoelDavies, he'll not only be picking the boxes to open in each round, but also the player's box!

Any guesses as to what the twist will be...?

Will you be using the board used on the American syndicated version?

Anyway, going into Week 10, here is the leader-board based off the Deal-Eye benchmark of everyone's weekly winnings:

1. Joel Davies (Benchmark: £18,205.64)
2. daniel123 (Benchmark: £12,579.07)
3. box 11 (Benchmark: £12,287.26)
4. Archstered (Benchmark: £12,200.59)
5. hogwild94 (Benchmark: £10,035.13)
6. KP (Benchmark: £9,661.24)
7. American Coupon Boy (Benchmark: £9,104.12)
8. Skyline (Benchmark: £7,375.49)

As far as placing the only thing that has changed since last time was that me and Archstered swapped places on the leader-board. However, the major item of note is the margin Joel Davies has extended his lead. While anyone could still catch him with a £250,000 win, it will take a win of £92,000 just for daniel123 to catch him. Hopefully the twist Saperogo has in store for us will help cut down Joel Davies' lead.

The twists:

JoelDavies selects the boxes!

My usual method of producing these weekly games is to play a game online on Saturday, save some screenshots, upload them to imgur, and post them here at the right times. But not this week! This week, JoelDavies won the right to select the boxes! Now the progression of amounts taken out will be decided by a player instead of me!

But wait! There's more! JoelDavies will select the box to bring to the table! So, JoelDavies, think long and hard about this choice; you will be very directly influencing this game with this!

10% Bonus!

Each amount on the board has been upped by 10%! Here is what the board looks like now!

Image

The 1p is unaffected as I refuse to hand out fractional pennies. ;)

Note that the top prize has been boosted to £275,000!!! Given that these kinds of weeks don't typically happen, you might want to make the most of this opportunity to win more than £250,000! :D

1p Special Offer!

Whenever JoelDavies successfully takes out the box containing the 1p, the banker will immediately make a non-negotiable offer of 110% the DealEye Benchmark. If the 1p is found in the final box of the round, this will of course preempt the usual offer (so no negotiations will be taken). If the 1p is left until the end... tough luck! :P

One box at a time at 5-box!

What game would be special without the opportunity of proceeding one box at a time? :)

Due to the extra offers, the rounds will be posted at strange times. This is why I will be banker this week; I can make the offer immediately when the round is posted instead of worrying about when the guest banker would be available to post offers. Tentatively, the rounds will be posted at the following times (UK time, of course):

Round 1 (17-box): Saturday, August 24, 11:59 p.m.
Round 2 (14-box): Sunday, August 25, 6:00 p.m.
Round 3 (11-box): Monday, August 26, 12:00 p.m.
Round 4 (8-box): Tuesday, August 27, 1:00 a.m.
Round 5 (5-box): Tuesday, August 27, 11:59 p.m.
Round 5.33 (4-box): Wednesday, August 28, 6:00 p.m.
Round 5.67 (3-box): Thursday, August 29, 12:00 p.m.
Round 6 (2-box): Friday, August 29, 12:00 p.m.
Final reveal: Saturday, August 30, 12:00 p.m.

This will probably change depending on external factors (i.e., if I somehow forget to follow this schedule) or if the 1p is found in the middle of a round. I tried to fit 18 hours to a round, but I need to make sure I'm awake and not busy at the time of the posting!

Negotiations!

...remain the same. I just wanted to be clear that they're not forgotten. As always, you have one chance at a negotiation, and if they're accepted, that's your new personal offer, but if they're rejected, you will face a 10% penalty. Remember that I will not be accepting negotiations for the 1p bonus offer.

---

Phew; that took longer than I had expected to write up. Let me know if anything is confusing. In the meantime, JoelDavies has PMed me the following choices for boxes:

Player box: 3
Round 1 boxes: 6, 18, 20, 11, 1

He can change his mind before I post round 1, if he so chooses.

I have made the spreadsheet with the randomized box values. I blacked them out before randomizing them, so I have no idea what is in which box. For the sake of honesty I have uploaded the spreadsheet to a place which I will share by the end of the game. You should trust the time-stamp. :smt023

I hope people win big this week!

Here we go!

Round 1

For those of you who have forgotten and don't care to scroll up, here is what the board looks like with the 10% bonuses!

Image

JoelDavies has selected box 3 to come to the pound table. If you don't like his selection, your only option is to swap at the very end. :smt023 His round 1 box selections are 6, 18, 20, 11, and 1. Best of luck!

Will we see the 1p in the first box and get the game's first 20-box offer?

.

.

..

...

.....

........

.............

.....................

..................................

6 - £275,000

Bummer! That's particularly frustrating because this will be the only game out of at least the first 19 with an amount higher than £275,000...

Oh well. Just recalibrate and accept that this is a £110,000 game now.

18 - £82,500 :smt009

Oh gosh. This is a really bad time to have relentless misfortune. Please let these be the only big amounts this round?

20 - £16,500 :|

Well, it could've been worse, but now we really need blues. We probably want to save the 1p for a while, though; finding it now would result in a not-terribly-great offer.

11 - £11,000

Well, at least the amounts are going lower, though not by much.

1 - £3,300

Well, at least it was a sting in the front instead of a sting in the tail. Still, this is one of the most devastating rounds you can expect to have in a special game. If I were a nicer person, I'd have arranged the boxes to be in your favor... but I swear that this was completely random and unexpected on my end. :?

Image

(Also, here's proof that this is indeed how the round went. The number in the first column is the box number, the second column is the randomized number for the sake of randomly sorting the amounts in the boxes, and the final column is the actual box amount. The blacked out boxes are, of course, the unopened ones, and the single green number is JoelDavies's box.)

Saperogo time...

Well, well, well. This was a quite pleasant round for me, the banker.

Before the boxes were opened I was only ever going to offer £10,010.10 as the opening offer. But now I refuse. In fact, it will be quite hard for you to ever see a five figure offer now.

Though I suppose I should be somewhat nice to you lot. After all, you stayed with this series for ten weeks. I think 110% the fair deal would make for a fair offer.

Banker's offer:

4,700

Make your decision by 6:00 p.m. tonight (i.e., 18 hours from now).

The next three boxes will be 5, 4, and 15, unless JoelDavies changes his mind.

The banker rings back.

That is a very good question, daniel123. Because you pointed out my typo, I have amended the offer.

Banker's offer:

4,700 wickedly weak, falling apart oak trees
