I think the £9,000 offer was well pitched. It took me most of that hour to decide to no deal, because the gains from continuing were low. It came down to two things for me:
The average of the other 10 boxes was £3,426.50, so losing the £250,000 wouldn't have been a complete disaster.
The second part was guessing what the offer would be next round. £9,000 was nearly 35% of the average, and the next offer would have to be more than £12,000 to make it worthwhile. I guessed that the offer would be more, so thought it was worth the risk.
