Hi Everyone I am new at this..was just wondering if anyone knows or past contestants could tell me if its true, that contestants get some sort of pocket money, while waiting to go into the crazy chair..its just that a colleague of mine says he knows someone that had money to tide him over while in the hotel and they take it out of the winnings at the end of their show. Thanks

Hi no we don't get pocket money, I mean we were given everything we need anyway, all expenses paid hotel, food, transport etc., what more could we want?

Did they pay your bar bill?! If they did, how do I apply?

Hursty2211 (how did you come by your name?)
Although this is how it may have come across, I honestly was not nervous, Noel did think this also, at one point he said I was sitting there like a scared little mouse. I just wanted to shout 'I am not scared, I am gutted thats all, I don't want to go home yet, I have only been here four days, you have put me on too soon, its not fair, why, have you done this, nearly everyone has been here so much longer, etc., etc., :smt026

He he Crazychair, actually what happens each evening is winners buy drinks for everyone in the group, so everynight I was there, there were at least three drinks free!! If a win was small i.e. £250 then the rest of the group put £10 each to boost their win, never happened once when I was there.

Hi Jeannie
my name comes from my surname hurst and my birthday is 22nd of Nov. It all sounds surreal. yeh had noticed a lot of people are there a lot longer..so what is the most shows you are allowed to do?

sounds good..the drinking bit..do you just stay at the hotel all the time or do you go home at anytime.?

did you watch johns show he was a little gutted when he took out 3 of power 5 in one go..felt for him. but it came good for him the end..at least he went with something.

see you soon

Lucy, from March 2006, played 50 shows. That's the current record so far. Nobody's come anywhere near that amount of shows since then.

Hi Zeddie
yeh always puzzled me why they pick someone so early and yet lucy had a good run..that was amazing..maybe they should have a minimum amount of shows you have to do or something like that.

see ya soon

WE REALLY DO NEED A BIG WINNER AGAIN..guess Laura is having an amazing time spending all her winnings.

No minimum or maximum as far as I know, actually Lucy now works for Endemol, saw her in the office there. If you are there are on a Friday, some people choose to go home or you can just stay at the hotel as normal. I arrived on a Tuesday same time as Pauline, and Leila, they had twice as many shows as me and as filming stopped for one week they went home and then had all the excitement of going back again, lucky things!! I actually watched Johns show from the Green room as it was filmed only 15 minutes or so after mine, he was in fact very happy when I saw him and said he was going to plan a cruise, he was lovely and although he may have come across slow he was far from it believe me, a real character.

Hi Jeannie
oh my god, so do you know what lucy does?..would love to do something in media or tv I have done 3 quiz shows before but a long time ago.

wouldnt mind something to do with adverts or voiceovers..oh yes talking of voiceovers does everyone do the recording of the blue boxes when they go for a break?

So what are your plans now jeannie? have you thought of doing anything different since being on the show?

Lucy seems to have a general office job. My voiceover along with Pauline, Kev, Leila and Shadids was done on our first morning before we were actually on the show. It was great fun and good of Endemol to add this to our experience. I am a bit flat since returning as currently my life is a bit boring :smt015 and I have a health issue that is not going to go away, that was one of the reasons I felt emotional on the show as I was not ready to face reality so soon. while there I was transported to a different world! Oh I hope my husband gets on some day so I can sort of have the experience again.

If you fancy working in the media, go for it, what are you doing now, could you do some training possibly, my friends daughter did a media course and has a great job now for a newspaper.
