There always seems to be a great friendship and bonding between all the contestants, but I wonder whether there have been any that everyone else was glad to see the back of?
I remember one show back in 2006 (I think it was Steve on 29/09) when he had clearly had a difference of opinion with a female contestant the night before, and when he asked for her box to be opened, she replied 'Hope it's red Steve' and the 250K appeared!
Any other contestants fall into this category?

I remember that, it was Lisa saying it to Steve, but coming after some comedy banter I think it was a harmless joke or mistake or something rather than genuine dislike! Noel played along by saying "We want this to be a high red!" afterwards...so was quite surprised when the £250k was revealed!

The very very big majority of the 650-odd contestants to have appeared on the show all got along with other fine. It's possible a tiny minority may have not - there's the case of CJ a few months ago who was kicked out for rudeness after just a few shows and never played her game - but in the whole history of the show I'd strongly doubt it was more than a handful. It's tempting to think that the players who do the shorter runs aren't as popular, but this is definitely not the case, especially during Battle of the Sexes when the men had to do short runs as otherwise it wouldn't have worked!

I actually misread that for a second and thought you meant 29/09/07, with Stuart rather than Steve, and thought you were talking about CJ, as she had the £250,000 in Stuart's game. I thought being rude was one thing, but she shouldn't even have survived the next 3 games if she said that and meant it!

I think Janelle who played on July 06 was rather unpopular from what I've heard about her - I actually didn;t see her game but she played after something like 10 shows on the wings so they could supposedly get rid of her, and nobody came up to hug her at the end of the game apparently.

Thahn was unpopular with the contestants while she was on aswell apparently.

Yes apparently she just went home after her show and didn't bother socialising with the other contestants. I also heard that there was a bit of rivalry between George and Brian (2) but I think it was just a rumour and don't know any details. Similarly, there was supposedly someone who was disliked in the February 2006 era, including someone who got bitten! Not sure how true any of this is though.

And some contestants were not very happy when Helen B got that 5450 pound bonus. Must've been very unpopular afterwards

Iwent on the show the week leading up to the xmas special and then from new years day until the 18th of jan.all of the contestants were the best crowd of people i have ever met,not a miss word at all.we all had the greatest respect for each other throughout the whole stay,we keep in touch on a regular basis by phone and we arrange get togethers how ever far we have to travel,i feel like i have a new family.Pat.

I was in the audience for CJ's first two games, all seemed well then, off camera she just seemed to be one of the group, just like anybody else, not distant from the other contestants. Something must have happened after that day.

Can't comment on Siobhan whilst on the wings but can say at the last reunion she was together with 500 Annie and Eric very popular with everybody who attended!

I guess there's always going to be certain people who don't get along with each other but it seems that 99% of all contestants who have been on the show seem to bond well.

I was thinking that too, I only really knew about Janelle, CJ and possibly Thanh.

Was Nan ever popular with the contestants

i have to say, i don't think there was anyone who was unpopular when i was there, obviously there were always people you got on better with than others, but not anyone unpopular.
i have to say Nan was definately popular!! certainly my number one fave game!!!

Catherine (January 07) told me that Thanh was nice, but they didn't really see very much of her, which doesn't exactly make her a bad person, but I suppose if you're not going to make the complete most of the situation, it's right to have a short run (eg. 17 shows)

None of us were saying she was a bad person, just a few of the contestants on when she was thought it was a bit rude that she didn't bother socialising after hergame.

Maybe she was cheesed off for 'only' winning £750.
