Since Deal or No Deal was broadcast it has said on the official website that due to a backlog they do not require any more applications, I find this a little unbeleivable and wondered if anyone could shed a little light on how people are applying???

Other TV game shows allow viewers to apply regularly!!!

At one point they had a backlog of over 50,000 applications I believe.

It's virtually impossible to get on the show now - there is a severe backlog - not as many as 50,000 now because of the severely reduced intake of application forms.

But bearing in mind they've only had roughly 620 players appear on set so far (if they got to November's filming before the summer break, they'd have gone past the 600th game!), it's taken 2 years to get through that many - now think about how long 50,000 would take to process.

Me like several thousands have probably just been scrapped.

Surely if they had that much of a backlog by the time they got round to most people on that list they would possibly be dead. :(

I dont think they actually scrap anyone just from the first application form. Most people get an audition but its the production staff that do the auditions I think so they must have to squeeze that in between the filming schedule. 50,000 is a lot of people though considering how few actually get on. Wasnt there a contestant who applied 40 times? Oh and Im Alicia and im new by the way.

Hello!

Welcome!

BTW if you are like the rest of us who are losing hope of making it on the show, try to hang in there - it will be alright on the night for all of us, I'm sure! :)

Nope, just sent the form off two months ago, nothing back yet.

Having said that, two months is nothing compared to how long some people have waited for.

You'll probably get a call when you least expect it. Just hang in there. I read somewhere that people were selling DOND application forms on ebay, is that true??

It is true, but try not to resort to that.

There are still ways in which you can get one for free.

The thing is to be patient. I applied the last time they asked for applications and they had thousands. After a month or so, I got the application form and filled it in. About another month or so I had a phone interview and was asked to go to an audition. I queued for hours and had a screen test and was told it could be as long as a year before I heard anything. About a month later I was told I was on the show and duly turned up. I filmed 20 shows in June and will be on Oct-Nov. the dream is still there - don't give up! Its an unbelievable experience!

How do you go about getting an application form? I've been a big fan of the show for a long time but have only just joined the forum, so a bit unsure of the facts! Thanks

PMSL

How did that audition go in the end, Adam?

Or do they not accept toddlers on the show?

Last series' champion is younger than Adam. So he doesn't have any problems in terms of age

:) Hi all, Brenda from East Wing. Phoned up after one show, got form approx.2 months later - last Christmas to be exact.Posted back after Chrimbo, got called to audition a month later then was phoned another month later to say I'd been accepted. Was actually in dentist's chair having a filling and could hardly speak. So that turnaround was quite quick. We were told there are 100,000 unsuccessful applications in the office alone. You have to put something unusual on your app.form to grab their attention and show you have a sense of humour.
