Kath's game today.

A very giggly, then serious Noel does the intro today :-D

He welcomes us again to the dream factory, he tells the contestants not to do what 3 contestants did last week and deal at the third offer and fail!

He wonders who the player will be today, and the newbie gets an early introduciotn.

Kath has box 21 today. She says she has waited a long time for this moment. She has a little dig at Noel for calling her Rita while on the wings :P Kath is a semi-retired dance instructor. She has her son in the audience for support today. Noel runs through some of the things that Kath has brought along, she has a gift for the banker of some "happy tea" that she says he will need at the end of the show when she beats him :P She also has a couple of photos of her deceased husband and also her son Sean with his children.

Kath asks Noel to collect something from her son before they start, and it's her husbands wedding ring.

Here we go...

box 21. Uh-oh. Unlucky game to come, and "lovethebanker" Is very probably right about the banker win.

now probably a £15,000 offer just because he's afraid of kath.

The banker says it was a disastrous first round, he says he was a bit of a dancer when he was younger and his speciality was the mashed potato :-D He thanks Kath for the tea.

Next round
Kath asks for some chanting and the audience respond...
22 - £50

14 - £20,000 OH NO says Noel

Kath goes to Den with 15 next, and Noel asks if she has any feelings from her box, and she replies she gets absolutely no feelings at all.

Noel then calls a break after a LONG plug for the viewers competition...

Hi, back for today. Just using a new stat, which calculates an offer based on a mixture of the amounts remaining, and things like risk, entertainment value and how much of a gambler the player is. :)

17 boxes left

Average: £12,621
Calc offer: £4,750
Actual offer: £2,222

I like seeing real people potentially winning real money, but having said that I find the role of the Banker and how he plays it possibly the most interesting part of the game...

Speaking of which, a live test for the formula I mentioned in the furore over Anne-Marie's game - opening offer range here for an average contestant of £2,600-£5,200. £2,222 is low, but it doesn't really matter at this point. I'd rather have seen £2,222 than £5,200, actually.

Noel thinks that the banker has recognised that Kath is the type of person who will bounce back, hence the raise in offer.

Kath says

NO DEAL

£4,444 was somewhat inevitable though. Nice comment from Power5 there!

Over half the mean, but it's rather stable - volatility 0.72. Yeah, that's about the only good thing you can say about this board. Four-figure mean already.

Personally i would have offered £1,111 at the most for that round - based on the fact that June-October offers seemed to best fit the round, maybe not tech.wise, but in terms of, because you took out £100,000 the offer is...etc etc.

Another thing: I havent a clue if kath is doing this or not, but i HATE anyone who suddenly declares, say, £2k a small amount of money. Unless they are doug in which case i understand.
