I agree with you there! My Dad used to tell me all the time, but I didn't believe it until I saw an episode of The Price is Right with about 20 Deal or No Deal contestants in the audience, one of which getting up on stage.

It's a shame I think - for those who do it then that's fine, it must be really fun, but other people who want to apply for gameshows are just going to think that you won't be able to unless you join this secret gameshow club or something. And surely auditioners are just going to choose people who've been on gameshows before as they'll be more experienced and not just freeze when they see the camera. It takes the magic out a bit if a contestant wins £50,000 on a gameshow, but then you find out that they've been winning thousands of pounds on other gameshows for years. I remember thinking "Wow, some of these contestants are really entertaining" but it turning out that they're exactly the same 'wacky' self on all the other shows they've been on, which makes you wonder if they really are like that or just an act they've carefully worked on to look entertaining.

It's even the same with kids gameshows. I used to go to theatre school and would see my friends on whatever CBBC gameshow was on at the time. Put a normal kid in that sort of enviroment and it's really overwhelming, so a lot of the time they get kids from stage school instead. There was a story in the papers recently about Blue Peter getting into trouble because they'd got some 'competition winners' to interview a celebrity, but in fact two of them were stage school kids who never entered it.

It's exciting to think that it's possible to be on TV so easily, but although it does happen, it's a lot, lot harder than it seems.

Did anyone else see Theresa who played in Double Deal week on Millionaire the other night? She didn't get past the fastest finger thing though.

Does anyone remember Stella who played near the end of Jan 2007. Was her surname Selby ?

If so I am sure it is her that is on Who wants to be a millionaire just now.

Has got her answer right twice on the fastest finger round so far but not been the fastest and time starting to run out so unless the contestant on now goes out very quick it doesnt look like Stella will get to the hotseat.

Time to bump this thread up.

As we all know, a contestant called Dave is currently on the west wing at the moment, awaiting his turn.

He previously appeared on In It to Win It way back in September 2004. Where he won a total of... £0, although he did put £25,000 into the prize fund at the time.

That means he now joins that elite club for those who have done both In It to Win It and Deal or No Deal.

I don't know if any of you saw The Paul O'Grady show today. Anyway, he was interviewing the new presenter of 1 vs 100, and they showed a clip of the show. The contestant shown was none other than 50p Dennis. I don't know when the show's going to be on TV, but it was definately him.

The show will return to BBC1 next Saturday for an eight show run. However, it will be on the same time as Britain's Got Talent.

A close source has informed me how well Dennis does but I don't reveal in depth spoilers ;)

Apparently 10p Pete was on some Jordan and Peter show on ITV 2 a couple of nights ago. Don't think he was on it much though.
