It seems as if everyone's flying their own flagship version of DoND round here as of late, so I got my thinking cap on and pulled some of my favourite features on special DoND games here over the years!

Anyone who knows what I've been like with forum games and series know that I'm not one for standard gameboards. This is no exception, actually, it's a brand new one (with initial inspiration from the new Miljonjakten in Sweden):
Image

26 cases holding 26 amounts of money from £1 to £1,000,000! The case opening pattern will follow the standard US one (6-5-4-3-2-1-1-1-1), and hence there will be no offer button. Nor will there be a Case 27, as I think that board is nice enough for you not to need one! ;)

However.

The twist in this game, is that any of those amounts could change, in a fashion that KP/Lewis246 devised in 2008. As there are nine rounds, there will be nine amount "shifts": The first being right at the beginning of the game, and then before every offer except your final offer. What determines how a value shifts (i.e. up or down, and by how much) is the values you have left in play. Keeping low amounts in the game makes you more likely to have amounts being shifted down, and keeping bigger amounts in play gives you a better chance of shifting values up to big sums of money.

Here's the more detailed explanation of how that works (though you don't really need to know how it works exactly). For every amount that remains in each section, there's a particular magnitude of change that will occur. Here are the bad ones...

- £1, £2, £5, £10: Each of these values contribute to a huge downshift of a value. A value will shift to 10-15% of its original amount or even less, and possibly nothing at all.
- £20, £50, £100, £250, £500: Each of these values contribute to a standard downshift of a value. A value will shift to 10-50% of it's original value.
- £1k, £2.5k, £5k, £7.5k: Each of these values contribute to a small downshift of a value. A value will shift to 50-100% of it's original value.

That's enough of them. Here are the good shifts you will be hoping to encounter:

- £10k, £15k, £20k, £30k: Each of these values will contribute to a small upshift of a value. A value can become anything between itself and the next highest value on the board. In the case of the million, that could become anything up to £1,995,000.
- £40k, £50k, £75k, £100k, £150k: Each of these values will contribute to a standard upshift of a value. Low blues can reach £15k, high blues £25k, reds can shift up two or three board values. £750k can become up to £2m, £1m can become up to £3m.
- £250k, £500k, £750k, £1m: Each of these values will contribute to a huge upshift of a value. Anything could become as big as £1m, and the reds can surpass even that. The £1m case can be shifted as high a £5,000,000!

This really, REALLY isn't as complicated as it sounds. Each time you are required to shift, I will ask you select two numbers that determines what value shifts and which shift applies. I have a spreadsheet compiled with plenty of different shift outcomes, including plenty of prizes, big and small, in true KP fashion!

Anybody fancy winning millions of pounds then? :P

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I'm free this evening if anyone wants to take on the million pound nine-shift?
