It's the Laura finish says Noel... The Banker says that he would have had to offer more here than he did to Laura as Carol would have turned down the £21,000 earlier...

Banker's offer would've been:

£63,000

And that would've got me to do some serious thinking

And Noel apologises for almost rubbing it in. He's a world away from how he was 2 years ago when he was shouting at people who dealt too soon!

Noel tells Carol that you always get the SWAP with the £250,000 remaining, and Carol says she would have SWAPPED

Noel SWAPS and Carol now has box 21 which contains £3,000

£60,000 to win £247,000....

No deal for me I think... just. This really is borderline though.

Oh! Brilliant! :D

If she had swapped in live play that would've been awful...

Yay, I OPW it again :D

Some low offers in this game. The banker obviously got a read on her because £21,000 was not a very good offer. It's not terrible by any means, but to me it's quite a straightforward no deal.

£63,000 isn't as simple, but again it was just about low enough to force me on. At least he didn't guilt trip and do a £100,000 offer or anything like that.

Two years ago there'd have been no hypothetical swap and a guilt trip.

Not the best result, but I'd rather someone won £21,000 being true to themselves than £250,000 obeying implicit orders. For what it's worth, I'd have won £63,000 - but anything from five-box Dealing to Wakeyism had a logic to it today.

This is a contender for the most important episode of the season, possibly ever. Have I really got the Noel I asked for after over three years?!?

She seemed happy and smiling.
I found Lamin's dance not extremely funny but a bit.
To be honest £21,000 for the board was a little bit low but not as bad as the £70,000 offer with Eddie.
Hope that the money pays off her debt.

Good game, and now we need to modernise our stats, I reckon...

And we can't get out of this one either - if we count box stats then it's a massive OBW as her original box had the jackpot inside..and if we count the outcome then it's still an OBW because her final offer was triple what she dealt at!

What I liked about that was despite missing out on a lot more money, Carol appeared to be totally at ease with her deal and over the moon about the money she did win. This time last year they all had their head in hands or were dancing at big money being found in proveout two rounds too late after they'd taken a poor early deal and would have been offered much more my dealing later (i.e Richard, Ronnie etc...). Suppose it's much easier to be like Carol if Noel isn't shouting at you for being a idiot and dealing too early. :D

I was a bit disappointed with only an £8k raise after the almost-perfect round from 8-box but neither do I expect everyone to play with a poker face either. :)

And terrible editing there. After one box was opened in the proveout you saw a shot of Kris with box 18 in front of him, it took me a few seconds to compute what it meant, but obviously the £250k would still be undiscovered at 2-box since they always do a swap with it in play now if they show any sort of inkling they think its in another box on the wings.

With my avid non-swap policy on £250k and £100k finishes I could end up having quite an argument with Noel if I ever went on and got in that situation. I'd have played to 2-box today, and I too though Kris might have the big one, so obviously you leave the box on the wings you think contains the big money so you can a get a much bigger offer. I'd have taken £63k then when Noel asked me about the swap I'd say "Well I think Kris has it, which is why i dealt, as I'd never risk swapping the big one away"!!! We could be there for hours deliberating about which box to open as what I would have won had I no-dealt!! :laughing

TBW 67-33, actually, Davey!!

James, I'd have just said 'well let's just open my box and reveal what box the Banker bought off me'!!

One of those games where the player had the £250k on the table (I'm ignoring the hypothetical swap especially when there was no chance of a no deal at 2 box) but because of the 2 box situation, she was never going to win it.

The deal was a cautious one but given her financial situation, you can't argue with it really.
