Does anyone know if the producers ever plan to air this game? I was in the audience for it and, although it wasn't any more exciting than average, I've forgotten quite a lot of it and can only remember the key facts

I'd really like to know what she won. I seem to recall some general nastiness at the time on the forums in November when some people asked rather quickly if anyone knew the result of the game, and others accused them of being disrespectful and not respecting Amanda and her loss, but more than six months on, even the result of the game is not generally known except to those who were there, and even they aren't prepared to reveal it for whatever reasons.

With all due respect, more than 6 months has passed now since the game (and quite a lot more since the original filming!), so surely now any self-imposed news blackout on this episode should be lifted. Even if it will never air, I would appreciate someone reliable revealing the "key facts" as you put it. I don't like guesswork or speculation, and perhaps then the whole thing will go away. If it hadn't been for the last-minute cancellation we probably wouldn't remember Amanda or her game at all. This is one DOND event that has been allowed to go on long enough. We need some kind of closure. I just wish someone from C4 would make a statement and give a definative yes or no answer.

Well I disagree that we wouldn't remember her - she was there for quite a lot of shows, and I really liked her! I would like to know the key facts - how much she won, what was in her box and what the highest offer was - that would do nicely!

I haven't got the episode appearance figures to hand, but it was in the low-to-mid twenties wasn't it? That's about average for a run and not quite a lot like those who were there for thirty or more. (EDIT: I count 24! :D )

I don't remember her at all I'm afraid, but then I have a poor memory and rarely remember anyone. Ask me to pick Amanda out of a lineup of three people and I would fail miserably. I have enough trouble remembering what £250K Laura looked like! Amanda certainly never stood out for me. If I hadn't have known her game had been missed out, I'd have never noticed her disappear from the wings without playing her game. Out of all the players who did disappear without ever playing their games, the only one I actually noticed at the time was Joseph!

It might be worth enquiring to Endemol about it. Coz we should get to see it at some point in the future...unless the person who she lost was heavily mentioned throughout her game. In that case,I can understand why it won't get shown any time soon.

In any case though, it's a complete mystery as to what happened in the game, in terms of gameplay.

Having spoken with Amanda, she's apparantly still unable to reveal any information about the game due to it never making broadcast.

You will probably notice in my stats on www.screwthebanker.com/stats.html that there is a big gap on each of the spreadsheets.

I guess we'll never know until it's shown...if it ever is!

I can visualise a TV show in years to come...never mind lost, missing episodes of the Morcambe and Wise show or Steptoe and Son...oh no..."tonight we're giving viewers the first ever glimpse of the missing DOND!"

I remember somebody posting what she won on I Love Deal or No Deal, but another contestant confirmed that it wasn't true.

Yes. I forgot about the infamous Endemol secrecy contracts that supposedly all audience members and contestants are supposed to sign. I always wonder whether this will ever stand up in a court of law, and forum members will take the stand at the Old Bailey sometime in the future accused of revealing how much money Amanda won in her game!

You couldn't make it up! :o

What are they going to do? I suppose they can always refuse to send out the contestants cheque until the episode actually airs, but they can't really silence audience members can they? Or are Endemol really as powerful as MI5, the CIA or Mossad and can track you down... :-)

I thought they got the cheque 28 days after recording their game so she should've got the money regardless of whether it was shown on air!

But if you read the clause at the bottom of an application form, you are not allowed to reveal anything about the show whatsoever until after your games have been publicly shown.

In other words, nothing can be said about it until it gets shown! Which could be a while yet...

I heard she sold a 10p box for about £12,000 but am not completely sure if that is right.

It actually goes even further than that:

Clause vii of the DOND application form wrote:

I will keep strictly confidential and will not without the prior written consent of the Producers at any time from the date I sign this application form and for twelve (12) months following the first transmission on television in the United Kingdom of the final episode of ‘Deal Or No Deal’ disclose publish or reveal to any person any incident conversation or information concerning the series or the application/selection process which comes to my knowledge as a result of my inclusion in the participant selection process and/or the ‘Deal Or No Deal’ programme, if selected, nor other information relating to the Producers, C4 or the ‘Deal Or No Deal’ programme acquired by me during this period other than information already in the public domain.

So how many contestants out there have been breaking this agreement by talking about their experiences :-) You can't legally do that until 12 months after the FINAL ever episode of DOND. Someone had better tell Mally to be careful what he writes in his next book! ;)

Can I just go on record and state that Geordie didn't reveal any DOND secrets to me at all at our recent meeting and is therefore quite safe from prosecution. On the other hand, if the producers of "The Weakest Link" are watching you've got him bang-to-rights!

SPOILER

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPOILER ALERT!!!

This is how the game went. Whether you believe me or not doesn't really matter but I don't see why anyone would invent this:

It was the 3rd game to be recorded on that day following Dawn and Neil.
Amanda had box 8. She chose box 9 first, an unmemorable player called Adie, and it was the £250,000; ironic after Noel had mentioned how 'overdue' it was (at the time of course).

What confused me was how Amanda mentioned during the first round, in response to Noel asking her how she felt about box 8, that she had planned to remove box 8 during the first round, but this was not followed with a first offer of a box swap. I think if anyone is going to swap their box at the first offer it would be someone who feels strongly about their randomly chosen box, like Amanda.

By the way Amanda was actually quite a joker at the table, which Noel admitted he hadn't anticipated given her generally quiet personality on the wings. I remember her saying a joke about a gay man standing in front of a mirror, which was admittedly made funnier because of her strong Welsh accent, to which Noel responded with: "How you ever thought that would make the final edit I really don't know!"

Anyway..... when she reached the 8 box stage her only power 5 amount was the £100,000. I'm pretty sure she had a 4/4 blue/red split, and the offer of £11,500 was a no-brainer IMO and in my brother's opinion too, as it was higher than the other 7 amounts, so the other reds must've been crap. She dealt, ended up with a final pair of 10p and £100,000. The offer was ridiculously inflated, just over 40k, but box 8 only contained 10p, so I think you would write it like this:

Box value: 10p
Dealt at: £11,500
Highest offer: £45,000??
Result: TBW approx. 75-25

I saw that on the ilovedealornodeal.co.uk site a few months ago so I assumed it's true. It's interesting that Amanda's not allowed to say anything. They probably wouldn't show it now but it could be her decision.

It seems a bit odd that she can't say anything about her game given that it was so long ago and that all the shows around it have been aired.

There were a few comments here: http://www.ilovedealornodeal.co.uk/users.php?user=76

They could always edit the show I guess but if it's so long ago and it brings back bad memories for her then fair enough.

Sounds like she had a very similar board to (if anything slightly worse than), recent Colin's and Jamie's - something like 100k/10k/5k/3k/4 blues including the 10p, and it sounds like a very painful proveout, though the hypo offers might have been believable if she'd played 3-4 months after she did! :) (Given Susan's last offer in active play)!

She did actually have potential to be my favourite W2'er if I'd seen her game, it sounds quite a laugh! :)
