HEAT 3 - MARCH 2009

5 days to place your vote.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

991 - Carol 22/03 - £26,000
Mother’s Day was a lucky day for Carol as she scored an OPW. At 2-box with £1,000 & £100,000 still in play the Banker brought out his ‘Old Faithful’ - £26,000. Carol dealt the £26,000 and discovered she only had £1,000 in her box.

992 - David (aka h2005) 23/03 - £6,500
dond.co.uk’s very own h2005 finally got his turn in the crazy chair after 29 shows, and what a show it turned out to be. With all manner of random moments & banter, including David chucking bananas around the studio. David also had a rummage around the compartments underneath the pound table pulling out various items such as Noel’s lucky hat and comedy nose. Noel himself pulled out some furniture polish and started to spray it on David! The game itself never reached the mega money, but after weighing up the odds at 5-box David decided the time was right to deal for £6,500. Which proved to be a good deal as David only had 50p in his box, and excluding the first of £10,000, was the largest in the game. The Banker also kindly allowed David to keep his box.

993 - Kieron 24/03 - £4,000
After a bad start, and in what was never going to be a mega money game, Kieron, eventually dealt at 5-box for £4,000, even after trying to negotiate with the Banker for some of Noel‘s special cufflinks, which the Banker refused. His box though contained just £10.

994 - Linz 25/03 - £1
The first of the 1000th show specials and after a fairly good opening round it was soon ruined by an all red second round which wiped out £250k, £75k, & £10k. Linz got to 2-box in live play with £20,000 & £1 still left. After being offered £6,500 Linz decided to no deal the final offer and to take the gamble for £20,000. Unfortunately though Linz ended up winning £1 from her box.

995 - Derrick 26/03 - £17,500
A game that was going well for Derrick with the offers steadily rising, up to £20k at one point, but after discovering the £250,000 mid-game the offers took a tumble. Derrick managed to recover the game though and got the offers rising again. Derrick dealt at 5-box for £17,500. His final offer would have just been a little higher at £21,000, but had just £250 in his box.

996 - Anna 27/03 - £10,000
After a bad start, and a joke offer of £997, Anna managed to recover the game into a position where she was offered £10,000 - twice. Anna no dealt the £10,000 offer at 8-box, but after a stick at 5-box Anna decided to deal £10,000 this time around. It was followed by what would have been the perfect round and was left with £5,000 & £100,000 in play. The Banker would have offered £30,000 at that point. The £100,000 was in Anna’s box.

997 - Chris 29/03 - £50
A totally unlucky game for Chris and by 8-box only blues remained on the board. At 5-box though the Banker added an additional twist to the game and said that if Chris dealt the 5-box offer of £50 and went on to beat the Banker by having a lower amount in his box he would give Chris an additional £997. Unfortunately even though Chris dealt the £50 he never got the additional money as his box had £250 and didn’t manage to beat the Banker.

998 - Stephen 30/03 - £35,000
A strong steady board ensured some good offers for Stephen (thanks to help of bench pressing Noel). But with the strength of the board in Stephen’s favour he played the game all the way till the end and was in a great position at 2-box where he was guaranteed to leave with a minimum of £35,000 at 2-box as both that & £50,000 remained. Stephen went on to win £35,000 from his box.

999 - Dirk 31/03 - 1p
In the penultimate show before the big 1000th episode, Dirk, unfortunately became the 20th member of the 1p club. The Banker had guaranteed Dirk an offer of above £10,000 at 2-box if Dirk had an all blue round and left £35,000 in play, but in the final box of the round Dirk found the £35,000. He declined the final offer of 11p and became the latest member of the 1p club.

Has to be David/h2005's game for me. Genuinely one of the most entertaining (and random) games I have seen.

Carol deserves a vote in my book, a well-played big-money OPW.

David for me, the funniest, relaxed and entertaining game which had me in stitches.

I don't think Noel has been more relaxed during a show either :D

In my top three of all time, or maybe four now since Stephen :D

Again I'll gift my vote to another show more deserving of votes (can't all go to David now! :P )

Stephen for me!

David.

If I have to choose between him and Alice in the final, god knows what I'll do! :)

Mike, David's £10,000 offer was certainly not his first offer now, was it? :smt018

While David's was the best, I'm voting for another show in this heat.

And I voted for Chris. Dirk and Stephen worthy mentions though.

I liked Stephen's game best although I didn't actually watch David's game at the time.
I liked carol's game as well.

I'm not voting for myself (not that I'm admitting to anyway) so I'll vote for Dirk. What a great bloke he is and his show was hilarious - such a shame he didn't win more than 1p.

Stephen's show was also great as well!

Stephen's game was good with extremely generous banker offers. Dirk's game today was funny but I don't think I've laughed so much at a DOND show so it has to be David for me.

(Like last month, the David/Alice decision for the final is going to be a tough one)

As exciting as it was to see David play, I think Stephen and Chris had more interesting and enjoyable games - especially due to them playing during a specials week.

David. Even if I'd had no idea who he was, it still would have been David.
