Noel asks if it's the "fold 'em" figure, or does the gambler want to go all the way...

She'd love to say yes, she's going all the way, but there's money, good money, being offered

Karen

NO DEALS

The audience go "Ooh" and Noel swaps her box 21 for box 7, which contains...

£1,000

"Argh" says Noel "You had it all along it was sitting there" :(

She says she had to do it, she had to bring box 7 to the table

Karen's original box 21 contains £10,000 :?

Yep, Elton did exactly the same thing.

Hopefully the people complaining about there being a lack of tension will be happier now...despite the fact she was never really playing for the huge money I found that really exciting towards the end!! I just hate the stupid *beep* swap. Karen was awesome and should have won loads more.

Really was hoping Karen would have won
£10,000 at the end as the offers were poor
for the board today. At 5 box I thought the banker
would at least have stuck on £7,500 if not gone higher.

That was a trainwreck in slow motion....just sort of a gradual collapse with one big number going in each round rather than one terrible round!

All the offers were testing for the board I'd say too, there were no easy decisions one way or the other, so it was well played by both sides I feel, just shame about the blasted swap. :(

Still, she's the first person to go all the way and win a red since BARRY!!!

I'd have done exactly the same, including the swap!!!

:( Why is it that the games that start off great nearly always turn to *beep*?

I liked Karen so it was a shame she had yet another bad game... not a good way to start June! But at least she can have no regrets as she never had the opportunity to deal at the higher money.

Enjoy the £1,000, Karen!

A rare treat for us in the Wakey corner today. A no-dealer and with resistance to the insidious dealing doctrine of Dr Doom.

Karen was a great lady who played the game in the way it used to be played.

Not disasterous bad luck but a gradual seepage of high boxes kept things tense and restricted the offers. I felt the low offers were instrumental in her going on and we got an exciting game which, had she not swapped, would have had a happy ending.

Still £1000 is a decent amount and I would rather win £1000 with honour than £5,000 as a coward.

Brave play that deserved so much more. Well done Karen.

Poor Karen..deserved more than £1,000...

Well done though.

Something to ponder: In rounds 2 to 6, one of the power 5 went in each round..thats rather rare isnt it?? And the big 3 went in the last boxes of rounds 2,3 and 4....

And I'd personally rather win the most money possible rather than stick my pride to an artificial label caused by my style of play, but I'm not you.

(I should qualify this by saying I, too, would have gone to the end today, and indeed in most games of late.)

That was a good game, it was just a shame that the gamble didn't pay off. I might have gone to the end today, for the first time in ages.

You can always give me the missing 4 grand if you don't want it! :D
