Why the *beep* is Lionel playing so early? I know he hasn't done much on the wings but I really like him and he's one of my favourites there, if not my favourite!

Lionel has box 20 today. Lionel Watkins Drew from Banbury, he's a retired printsetter, and has his wife Marion in the audience for support. He has a good luck card from his granddaughter. We learn that he has a dream of visiting west Canada. Noel asks Marion if Lionel is a gambler, and she replies that he does have a gamble...

I was thinking that, he hasnt said much on the wings but already from 5 minutes in the chair you can tell he is a great character and I hope he wins big!

Oh I didn't realise that.

Don't the contestants have to basically give away their utility curve on their application form anyway? He might have given the appearance of being a Wakey on that.

(Or there's the opposite explanation - they're trying to get rid of the cautious players to produce a 22 more similar to that of January 2007?)

Indeed. I remember Khanny saying Deal quite a lot on the wings before his game.

And my last post was quite clearly supposed to say "big" not "bit". And now it's quoted and in bold, highlighting my typo still further. It's the equivalent of a big neon sign saying "Stupid".

Noel gets his pen out again and writes 1 2 3 on Lionel... The banker says newbie Frazer looks familiar to him, and asks if he is called Shaun, he replies he is and he was one of the pilgrims in Patrick's game that the banker called stupid!!!
