If Derek wasn't a self-confessed gambler, he probably would have stuck at £26,062 - but £30,000 is a good tester for a self-confessed gambler like Derek.

The banker is a little worried that Derek will go all the way now, hence the offer... Noel says he is trying to find out how much of a gambler Derek really is...

Derek says

DEAL

Good offer but it's worth carrying on - no deal.

But he's dealt...

One of the best games of the year. A game where all the nonsense came from the player and not the host's dismissal of substantial sums of money. Wish I'd seen that one... more games like this and I'll be a viewer again. I'm not holding my hopes up.

I agree. No gimmicks and sensible testing offers.

That was one of the best games ever!!! Surprised some people don't like him...I thought everyone would love him! He was an absolute legend and I'm so glad he got the OPW - I was so relieved when he had the £50 at the end. In a way, having £35k there would have been worse than him having the £250k, 'cos he'd have just barely missed out an OPW and it would have been really annoying. But he didn't! Hahah I love Deal or No Deal. (We'll forget Kirsty's game...)

Oh dear me! What an irritating old duffer. When he staggered out with that owl thing it started to look grim and when the songs/chants started I reached for the whisky bottle.

But at least I had the consloation of knowing he was a 'no-dealer'.

Except he dealt!

Not really a cop out admittedly, especially after Kirsty yesterday, but in the wings he always advocated no-dealing and I thought he might go for it today. I didn't even think the offer was very good for that board!

I hated the game. When the yo-ho-ho-ing started I reached for the zapper and it was only Noel wisely stating that the chanting was stopping that kept me watching. Horrid!

That was a really good game. Derek was a legend, and it was an OPW! I agree with Daniel, it wouldn't have been as good if he'd had the £35k.

Great game, one of the most memorable characters of recent times and the right deal at the right time as well! We really needed that one after PJ and Kirsty, well done Derek! (Still think he should have got more than 19 shows, but guess they may have played him early as he'd been ill.)

20 actually! 18 though if you only count the ones for which he was actually present.
