big win, dunno why he dealt, its a no lose situation. id have no regrets with winning the 50k. would deal if theres low red or blue.

No it wasn't...he stood to lose £25k. And probably would have, if his belief in the other box was so strong that he would have swapped for it.

Anyway, what an awesome game!! Spookily similar to Lance's, but still just as great...well done Doug!!

you're techincally right, but you say 'no lose' when you've got nothing to lose. ie, not too bothered wether you win the £50,000 or not. you could say the same for dealing, (deal and not be bothered about the 100k) but its nice to know uve gone for it.

What a great game Doug, congrats on £75 000, this is shaping up to be quite an excellent month for DOND.
And I noticed in todays game, Di has been doing some more of the face excercises!

Nice one Doug was a fun game today :D and that chick in his beach babes photo on the left was hot!!! lol.
I personally wouldnt have dealt when he did it was a no lose, but for him in the context he was clearly thinking of swapping it was the right call since he would have lost.
Lance was the most foolish in terms of dealing since with 75k fall back and 100k to win the 87k deal just seemed pointless.

THat was the best game in a long time, its not often the genuinely momorable contestans win huge! And I think I love Charlie - and not just for revealing the £3k at the perfect time! ;)

I THINK I would have gone as far as Doug did - I thought all the offers he had were good, but none screamed out "obvious deal" to me - Even the £26k at 5-box, although it sounded good on paper, on current banker behaviour, keeping the £100k in would guarantee a bigger offer, and keeping £50k with any of the smaller 3 would only have seen a small decrease, if any at all - even the 30% chance of disaster would not have resulted in going home with nothing!

As far as the final offer goes, I probably would have dealt, as I wouldn';t risk £25k on a coin-flip, even with £50k guaranteed. It wouldn't have to be much less to make me no deal though - maybe about £73k would be my tipping point!

Hope you really enjoy the £75k Doug! :D

And it was also a year since someone from W1 played - I also think that's the first time this year that someone has played from the same position as that day a year ago! :)

Perhaps he wanted to win something no-one else had won. :?

I would have dealt at his £87k offer for that reason.

A memorable character wins big? That's not meant to happen!!

Glad it did, though, that game was amazing. Any other day that would have been a really painful proveout, but he somehow managed to get himself a huge win. Really well done on your £75k, Doug!

is the game all about winning cool amounts, i thought it was about winning as much as possible... a possible £100,000 is excellent with a minimum £75,000 win, regardless of the £87,000 offer. Why did Doug say that £25,000 was a lot of money when he should have taken the £26,000 without a second thought?

Because when he was offered £26,000, he stood to lose £25,750 or possibly win an extra £74,000. The potential gain was much more than the potential loss. When he was offered £25,000, though, he would just have been gambling that for another £25,000 - the risk wasn't really worth the potential reward.

Well done Doug, it was brave to no deal,
and the dream 10% chance scenario from 5 to 2 box happened again, reminding me of Lance's game where the same happened! :D

That was an amazing game - one of the best ever due to a huge character playing, a funny game without extra gimmicks and a huge win! I'm so glad Doug's bravery paid off and he managed to get as much as £75,000! It reminded me a bit of Lance's game, actually - whereby Lance was left with £75k and £100k, and dealt at £87k and had £100k in his box - except Doug had £50k as backup and dealt at £75k... but also had £100k in his box!

And by the way, I mention earlier about how pointless a "red, red, red" chant on an all-red board was - I didn't realise they were actually chanting "3, 3, 3" for the £3k...

But anyway, well done Doug - a fantastic game and a fantastic win - enjoy the £75k!

The £75k club by dealing or no dealing to the end is becoming quite crowded now!
