Yeah it doesn't get given to you on a plate in certain games. You have to show courage to get something. Well done SJ.

Yeah but if you have £14k in your hand; sometimes hard to walk away from for the risk of something that would only cover a large round of drinks?

I would have carried on, I am being serious. You don't even have to be a gambler to turn that down.

Wakey!!
Stop it!

she showed amazing courage today, the pressure is on when your in that chair. no second chances 1 shot at the money
you make the decision and sometimes its right sometimes its wrong....

im so proud of her, she has a great attitude to life which showed through today.

Well, you do, as you'd be gambling £14,000...you'd be taking a gamble, and therefore would be a gambler, surely?

I'm really not sure what I would have done, which means I'd probably have dealt, but it was a very tricky offer. I think either decision would be perfectly understandable.

I'm normally a fairly strong no-dealer but I expect I would have reluctantly taken that final offer. I just wouldn't want to go home with a tenner after all that. It wasn't the greatest offer but it wasn't an insulting one and £14,000 is decent money - it's always much harder to no-deal when there's a 50-50 chance of going away with next to nothing.

Certain games you can see falling down around the players, so they have no option but to go on and see what they can squeeze from the banker. I thought that SJ game was going like that all through.

However at the end she got a rescue offer and think it was right choice to deal. Who wants to risk going back down pub with just enough to cover 4 pints? :smt102

From THAT first round, to get £14k is quite a result, and I would have absolutely hated her to go with next to nothing (as she would have if she'd hit the £50k in the last round!). That was still an exciting, tense game, as I wasn't sure what she was going to do at the end, I'm not sure no-dealing on the history of Box 16 alone would have been wise either!

Even the £5k offer at the deal-of-5 would have tempted me, it's not often that the contestant gets offers 10% of the red in a 1 red/4 blues board, look at Hannah's £500 offer Steph's 4,750, and Trevor's £9,900 for instance!

But it's almost impossible to risk £14k in a 50/50 all-or-nothing gamble, as utility theory kicks in!

Anyway, great game, and really happy to see her recover from a disastrous start, well done SJ! :)

SJ we know you could have won more,
but then your show would be such a bore,
maybe you'd have kissed noel anyway?
but oh what a day, what a day!

maybe with your money,
you could by something funny,
like purple flipflops? a bowler hat?
or even a little pet cat!

i loved your show
i't will never suck or blow,
oh SJ,
I'd be there with you, anyday.....

another poem out of my head!

hi guys!

just have to say thankyou for all your wonderful wishes and explain a few things......

when i got the call to go on deal it was 5 weeks before my wedding - a huge wedding............... i had to go and film 2 weeks before my wedding and cancel my honeymoon to film the week after the wedding (they even wanted me to film the day before the wedding)

you will notice prior to barbras show no wedding ring and after that wedding ring was there..........i gave up a lot to do the show......x

i spent all of our savings on new house and our wedding and lost the honey moon money, i just HAD to leave with something,...........!

my heart said no deal and if all this hadnt just hhappened i would have gone on to open my box. but my head ruled,it took me a long long time to make that final decision i can tell you, you saw when the box was opened, i held no regrets, with the power of hindsight i would of carried on and got the 50k, but as i said, right then for me, 14k meant something ALOT.

You can never forget individuals circumstances when they deal, when it is your life you are having to consider and the effect on it, everyone reacts differently. I dealt and i am happy.

I so thank you all for making me feel so special whilst i was on deal, it was one of the biggest and best things that ever happened in my life and i will never forget it, and i will still be on this site daily with you all.

This was cut out of the show but for my dear friends here it is for you......my limerick at the end of the show..............

If ive done good
or if ive done bad
ill never forget here
these times that ive had..

Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

SJ XXXXXXXXXXXXX

every one here i know i will miss
one last thing noel...
will you give me a kiss!

Don't forget the extra tenner. ;)

So glad you got a decent amount given how much it clearly meant to you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us...very interesting.
