If I we're the Banker, I'd offer £1,500 on the condition that Stephen can't risk it on Box 23.

Stephen says that's a really good offer for the board. Roop is the only player who would deal now. James reminds Stephen to consider that he could deal now and potentially double the money.

Stephen says

NO DEAL

Noel says there are actually four cruel outcomes from this - nothing, 5p, 10p and 20p; but one good option - £10,000.10.

Noel opens box 23 and reveals HALF

Stephen's total winnings are 5p

At least he took the relentless misfortune well, and he has a club of his own. That's all you can really say about this game. :(

Cue more cautious play. :smt011

To quote a past contestant, "What a dope of a bloke."

Who cares about unique winnings clubs? Less losers, more action.

Please and thanks.

*emerges*

Interesting, how most - if not all - of the members still active here are perfectly 'normal' and 'sane' in the other forums, yet for an hour of every day they continue to mutate into whining, moaning, childish idiots. Then back again as soon as the clock hits 17:00. This show's not good for you, folks. :|

*recedes*

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Sometimes there are games where you have nothing you can do and this was one of them. :(

Wrong. These kinds of situations can be prevented by engaging in a long-forgotten practice known as dealing an offer. Google it if you don't understand it.

Also, Dan wins the thread yet again because he is both awesome and right.

See ya later, folks.

UM... I thought you weren't considering box 23 in the offer equation! ;)

But yes, the "gamesmanship" strategy would be an interesting one on this finish...

Urgh.

If The Banker were to make offers like that, there would be no blinking point to have Box 23 there in the first place if contestants are stopped from buying it!

I think the only offer worth considering was the 2-box one (if you were thinking of dealing to make sure that 4 of the 5 box-23 options gave you at least an amount of money that you could buy something tangible with).
