A few low moans for that. Pete puts some specs on! He could do a lot with £5,000. He tells of how his brother-in-law and his daughters in California have gone through various medical problems, and he wants to take his wife to see them.

Pete says:

Clearly the Banker wants Pete to go to 5 box.

Round 4

Box 13 with Paul - £1,000

Box 7 with Anita - £750

Find a blue now, and that's a cracking 8-box, says Noel.

Box 18 with Sacha - £75,000

Banker time...

All that hard work undone in a single box, says Noel. The Banker says it's shaping up to be a terrific Christmas for him! He reminds us Pete will be playing the present stacking game if he goes on, but thinks Pete will be too old for it! Pete asks the Banker to come out here!

Well Pete's almost certainly going to 5 box now.

I think you've got him worried, says Noel. Pete says there's a lot of money on that board. He wonders what the chances are of him taking out the £50,000 in the next round.

Noel, the Banker going down in money and generosity at every offer thus far is the polar opposite of having him worried.

The fact that he said he was going to offer £1,000 is an absolute insult!

Now the top two look very exposed, says Noel.

Twist time...

I'd want to have at least one of the Power 5 remaining to go for the 1st Class option.

As it is, no point in one box at a time for just £5k.

Second day in a row with a killer 5th round, and just like yesterday, there was virtually no way to avoid being in live play at this point.

Talk about all the Banker's gifts coming prior to Christmas, says Noel. We get Banker laughter, of course. Noel says this could still work out very well.

Present Stacking Game

The player must collect the various piles of parcels scattered across the studio, and must build a tower of a certain height, which must stand for five seconds. They can opt to try and do it in 2 minutes (Second Class) or 1 minute 30 (First Class). If they succeed at Second Class, they get a holiday, with no downside for failing; if they succeed at First Class, they get a holiday and one box at a time, but failing means the Banker gets to look in the box.

Pete opts for Second Class.

Pete takes his time, but succeeds with twelve seconds left!

Banker time...

Again, it's better to have a game like this now than on a normal week.

The snowman delivers Pete's holiday, which we'll find out about later. The Banker says well done to Pete, and thinks that was the most Christmassy thing he's ever seen: a man with a white beard running around gathering presents!

Why the silence? That's a good offer for the board.
