My goodness, when did all these pram toys end up on the floor?

Was it a statistically poor deal? Well yes, although at the same time it was hardly a golden board Colin walked away from (his board was actually worse than Tia's, she had £15k instead of £10k and her lowest sum was £50 at that point!). To bring £250k to the table then lose the next 6 highest sums in the first few rounds is incredibly unlucky. Plus, for all Colin knew at the time, he could have knocked out the biggie in the next round and been forced to the end.

Big numbers becoming isolated early in the game then getting missed in the proveout seems to be happening an awful lot lately. Sad times...

At least Colin didn't deal for £2,500 at 11 box, but
that will be little consolation. The fact that he had given it so much deliberation
meant the banker knew he could get him cheaply.
The banker may well offer £4,999 to a cautious contestant with a similar board
at 8 box to break his own record!

Surely this will encourage the gamblers to chance their arm now! Or maybe not.....

I don't normally like the hyposwap but we could have done with it today. ;) ;)

Not much to add about today's game but having just come back from seeing some games live, it has reminded me how difficult a game it is to play live - certainly not as easy as it comes across on TV when you have boards as precarious as the one today.

I'm not defending the decision statistically but it's the player's decision to make.

Very true, although it's worth mentioning that among all the hysteria on there, someone called Tony has pointed out that having lots of bravery won him 50p on the show. Blast from the past right there!

I wonder how many people who post on the DOND FB page have ever watched a game live. I bet not many.

Well yes, that was a heavily cautious deal but given the way the game had been going I do have some empathy for his decision. It's very easy with the benefit of hindsight to say 'well he had the £250k in his box why didn 't he go for it?' but that's all it is - hindsight. Fact is if he had found the £250,000 in the next round people would be saying wasn't he lucky to avoid a trainwreck?

I think some people focus too much on the end of the game and give no consideration to how they got there

Ironically on the same same week as the lowest selling of the £250,000 on this version of the show, the prime-time Dutch version also saw its lowest selling of the jackpot, with the guy selling the €5,000,000 case for €125,000, and if that wasn't enough, it was also the FIRST 2nd offer Deal on that version of the show. :smt011 (Link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irKYi9sTg0E)
