Niall may well have turned down the £10k at 11-box without the family influence, although it's difficult to tell given he (admirably, perhaps) admitted he didn't think he had a red. £4,250 was one of those offers that was probaby better than it looked - yes there were 3 amounts higher but if you lost the £20k you might end up having to take the box (as blue/£5k and blue/£10k come with no guarantee of a good get-out based on previous experience). Fair play to Niall, he got a decent result from a tough board.
