Well, that was just utterly amazing for a variety of reasons. And it looks like Ryan's game was just a blip in the run of OPWs.

And we thought September was an unlucky month for the show!

Brilliant stuff. :D :-D A HUGE turnaround of nearly record proportions and a Banker Spanking from sensible play. Well done, Carmel. :smt023

I've said it before: the Banker should not celebrate when there is still the chance of big money being won. He's going to look very stupid if we get a large scale repeat of Steve's game here.

Great result for Carmel there. To be honest I wouldn't have blamed her for cutting her losses and taking £4k at 8-box as it was probably as much as anyone could hope for on that board, plus she probably felt as if she'd had to climb a mountain to get offered that much by then. Fortunately she didn't and took an even better offer at 5-box. Excellent.

I was honestly hoping for two all-red rounds in the beginning for the sake of having something happen that has never happened before. At the very least, pulling off eight consecutive blues after having had seven consecutive reds is pretty nice in of itself. Plus a banker spanking is nothing to laugh at! :D

We've not only had a good run of wins, but also of universally accepted gameplay, it seems like. Commentary threads are enjoyable to read once again!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I remember seeing Betty's game live in Xmas 2010 which also had a terrible run of reds to start with (just having the £100k left) and ended up with her winning a decent amount (although she had the £100k in her box) and this game was very reminiscent.

Watching it back, it is funny how Carmel kept talking over Noel throughout the show. Seems a shame now that Friday's game wasn't a spanking otherwise we'd be on a run of 6 in a row now.

Well, technically that would make a run of 3 as Yuwadee "spanked" the Banker only because of her dishonesty in the prove-out.

That was one of the most amazing turnarounds we've seen in a long time - 7 consecutive reds, then 8 consecutive blues, that has to be some sort of record in itself doesn't it? Brave to Carmel for holding her nerve just long enough to push the offer into 5 figures, and having the foresight to bail before the game collapsed back in on her
