Richard becomes the 48th member of the 1p club.

Box 2 with Paul contains the £10.

Richard says he's devastated, but that's how it goes sometimes, and he's enjoyed every single moment of the experience. :D :smt023

Well the only decent offer in that game was a non-monetary one. Would have been quite unique if he dealt the ring offer and then had the crash he did.

Yeah, so when are they retiring that useless amount already? Look at how many lives and relationships it's destroyed. Seriously, that's very bad.

This show is so evil and unforgiving sometimes. That really needs to change, especially if they want to keep their viewership numbers.

Game shows about helping people live out their dreams and stuff by giving them a chance to win real money, and not turning average people into a spectacle with torture like this.

Nuts to this show. Seriously.

When the banker made the final call, did Noel say he was being minxy by offering the swap? Soon be 50 on the barge. Does seem like in the last 12 months more have been joining the 1p club. Any stats on that?

Yes it would have been great. Could argue that if/when the ring was sold it would would be worth more than its face value due to the provenance of being a prize on a early 21st century gameshow...Ok maybe not.

Statistically poor offers throughout, but Richard just couldn't get a break from the boxes either. The players really haven't had much chance to capitalise on Paddy's win.

Surprisingly perhaps, that's only the third 1p win this year - bit of a far cry from the year we had 3 in January!

I think when they get to 50 passengers on the Losers' Express, they either need to cancel the show, or officially "retire" the amount. There's no longer anything special about riding that train anymore. It's now viewed as the result of having the world's worst luck.

I'd rather win absolutely nothing. It would feel better to me.

And that time where there were 4 penny winners in the space of 12 games!

Purely non-monetary offers are ridiculous though, and historically don't have the security monetary offers do.

But a completely luckless game otherwise, sadly.

I was surprised by the £10,000 engagement ring offer, but if he were not able to sell it, that diminishes its value, really.

Games like these stink. However, I try to view these as a necessary evil in order to make big wins even more delicious. If everyone on this show consistently won over £20,000, this game would get boring quickly.
