What was the point of allowing the Banker to look in the box if he's only going to lie?

Yeah, how dare he win more than you would've!


Um...? Three possibilities here:

1.) He looks in the box and tells the truth.
2.) He looks in the box and tells a lie.
3.) He looks in the box and then doesn't say anything.

If you want to completely rule out (2), then you'll have to completely rule out (1) because then there's no more game to play. So then all that's left is (3), which is silly because it does absolutely nothing.

I seriously don't understand what your issue here is.

Has the banker been reading a certain forum member's posts recently?

I had to sit back in my chair when I read this thread! I was calling for a variant on this type of scenario last year. So perhaps the production team are reading the threads after all. I'd prefer the situation when the game is still in live play and the banker looks in the box, as happens on the special shows. But really the player must be offered something in return. Perhaps a holiday as a consolation prize if they lost out to a big gamble.
