Noel says Jean is 100% better off now.

Noel calls a break before we hear from the Banker...

I'd expect about £14-£15k here.

Whatever the offer is, it might be in takeable territory now. With very limited backup, it would probably be wise to get out now.

We're back...

Noel wonders if the Banker will recognise Jean's courage.

Banker's offer:

£12,000

Jean says that's absolutely wonderful, then quickly asks for the question.

Jean says:

DEAL

Round 5 - proveout

Noel says we are in a period where the players have got their timing wrong.

Box 6 with Louise - £35,000

One box away from a Spanking, says Noel.

Box 15 with Trish - £10,000

Two components of the perfect round, says Noel.

Box 3 with newbie Tom - 50p

Banker time...

That would've been a good round in terms of getting the offer up, says Noel. The Banker reminds us how he said he'd keep going up provided the £250,000 stayed.

Banker's offer would've been:

£15,000

Round 6 - proveout

Box 4 with Bronwyn - £5,000

Please find it, says Noel.

Box 7 with Zoe - £500

One last chance, says Noel. The Banker calls, and says the final offer will either be £66 or £66,000!

Box 20 with Adam - £250,000 :D :-D

Banker time with 10p and £250 remaining.

Uh-oh. Hope this proveout has a happy ending. The worst-case scenario is an underselling of the jackpot.

Yay :D! Jean registers a Mad Mark Spanking - selling a low blue for a huge profit - so all's well in the end.
Congrats to Jean, and enjoy the money :smt023.

Box 12 with Kimberly contains the £250.

Jean runs through what the money will do for her, including getting her drive done. Noel says Jean knew when to stop taking risks.

Hard to argue with that - a solid win for a decisive player.

I got out of watching this Edmonds-rung circus last month.

I've spent this time watching old epsidoes of The Herbs on Youtube. Delightful, late '60s children's programme, a reminder of a bygone age.

Can't argue with that. Better than most of the stuff on Children's TV nowadays. The '90s was the best era for Children's TV, IMO.

YES! Being a child of the 90s was absolutely fantastic. Brilliant stuff we had on TV back then...

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

We had some equally great stuff on TV during the '90s* up here in North America, and I agree that most of it - even the bizarre, surreal stuff - was far more enjoyable than some episodes of Deal.

Agreed. 90s cartoons were excellent and a breath of fresh air after the rather dark era of 70s and 80s cartoons... And cartoons were already declining by the late 50s... :?

But the 40s will always be the best decade for cartoons (not children's TV, though, if that existed then :P )

Well there's a player today who didn't need any advice about her decision. Cautious deal but with a very volatile board, she needed to keep both the QM and the £35k in play to 5-box to get a lot more and thankfully she took both out before 2-box.
