Box 20 with Waraporn contains the £35,000.

Gary feels traumatised and exhausted! He says £20,000 will go a long way for him and his family, who come down to congratulate him. Noel says Gary earned his money there.

That was a bizarre game, but it worked out for Gary in the end.
Congrats to Gary, and enjoy the money you asked for :smt023.

Well well...where to start?

The comedy effect of the 1p offer I understand...but come on. I don’t class any joke offer as legitimate, so it’s nowhere near the record in my books.

The first £12,500 was our first decent offer in a while...as for the terrifically unlucky third round and the nothing offer?

You know what I think of these jokes. Bah humbug. Again, no record for me there.

£12,500 at 8-box was extremely generous...as KP put it, we were all over the shop with the generosity today. And for a real DoND first, I’d see no viable way forward – I’m bailing out at £12,500, taking the money and running. Far, far away. For ever.

As for the £20k offer...no excuses, a must-deal. Absolute must deal.

And thankfully...he did :)

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Very unusual game today. £12,500 was a definite deal for me although I might have been tempted to go on if I knew I was almost guaranteed a decent offer on the 5-box board but on a 4/4 board, that's a big risk to take.

2 very different £20k OPWs in a row though (counting winnings from the player's game only)

Under normal circumstances I think the banker wouldn't have offered more than 18K for that 5 box
so glad that 20K was accepted and Gary achieved the OPW. :)

I suspect that in my game, I'd ask for it to be a quiet one, and emphasise it being an intriguing battle with the Banker.

Here look John McB! I wasn't in for this game! ;)

Haha Archie! It actually wasn't as loud as I expected at the beginning, maybe that was why! :D

I was in the audience for this show [and tomorrow's, way hey!]. When the banker spoke to Gary on the phone, it was well over 5 minutes, and Gary said very little. The conversation was 95% Banker, who we couldn't hear, and 5% Gary, who we could hear. I knew they'd edit it, as 5 minutes of silence on television wouldn't be good.

Well that was an interesting battle. Not entirely unprecedented for the player to pitch their own offers, nor is it a first I think for the player to then turn down said offer, but Gary pushed the offers close to the average and that could easily have backfired on him and forced him to the end.

FWIW I would have asked for £20k at 5 box as well, simply because it was the 'fulcrum' and with the board balanced the way it was it seemed appropriate.

Not sure about the players' predictions of £21,000 or higher, however. I think £20,000 itself was rather excessive, being so close to the mean.

The wings appear to be full of people who aren't used to the statistical side of our game. That can only breed confidence in dear Banksy...

Myyles said £23,000 which would be 9% above the average!
