Paulina's game today.

Noel talks about Lorraine's game, and how the amount the player wins doesn't say a thing about the game itself.

Paulina has Box 6 today.

Paulina Solinska, originally from North-East Poland, currently living in Tamworth, and working in a factory as a laser operator! Her main job is cutting up sandpaper. Noel is very interested in sandpaper; he goes on a rather long speech about it! ;)

Paulina has a photo of her with her sisters, who she doesn't get to see very often. She hopes to win enough money to study a Masters in German.

Here we go...

I love it when £10,000 goes first. The reaction is different every time.

The Banker says Dan should be ashamed of himself, as he made everyone late in the morning; he claims the coach from the hotel had to wait for him, as he was spray-tanning himself! He's terrified of Paulina, as she already has £1,000 after she revealed the 1p of Christmas Day, so it's impossible to win a blue (as BankerSpanker said earlier!).

Banker's offer:

£14,000

Very good offer to start. That's effectively £15,000 she has there.

It's interesting that Noel actually reminded everyone about that Christmas Day show.

(Incidentally, it's not the first time a player has been guaranteed a red win; David from this time two years ago won £1,500 in a previous game as well ;) )

Paulina is amazed, as she's never seen an opening offer that high. Noel says he's never heard the Banker so concerned!

Paulina says:

NO DEAL

They're really pushing that £1,000 bonus here aren't they?

As far as I'm concerned it really doesn't matter, although maybe you could flatten your utility curve slightly towards the bottom to reflect the fact you start the game in a better financial position than you'd have prepared for between getting the call and actually playing.

We're back...

Round 2

Noel has been reflecting on the situation; he says the Banker has never been so nervous, as Paulina already has £1,000 after the Christmas Day game.

Box 7 with Ahmed - £50,000

Noel says all the big numbers that go will be a big relief to the Banker.

Box 9 with Steve - £500

Noel tells Paulina to take her time.

Box 19 with Trev - £15,000

Banker time...

This is actually the sort of board where the £1k bonus does mean something in fairness.

The Banker says he doesn't feel any better after those top two going; he heard Paulina mutter 251,000!

Banker's offer:

£18,000

Didn't Suzanne's holiday come to more than £1k?

I'd Deal this.

£18,000?!

I think DEAL EYE has gone!

Offer was 54% above the FD.

Paulina says she's a wreck! Noel tells her not to say that, as she has the Banker nervous! Steph tells her to take her time, as she still has four of the Banker's Power 5. Gary says £18,000 might be doubled if Paulina has a good round. Paulina would always say there's another round on the wings.

Paulina says:

NO DEAL

Round 3

Noel runs through what Paulina wants to do with what she wins.

Box 2 with Abi - £75,000

That's a genuine shame, says Noel, but it's not disastrous. He says the Banker rewards courage, and he thinks Paulina may have more courage due to her guaranteed £1,000.

Box 3 with Irene - £50

Paulina loses track of where she is in the game! Noel can't guess what the next offer will be if the next box is blue.

Noel calls a break...

If this is blue, the Deal-Eye benchmark is going to be higher than it was at 14-box...

If this next offer is above £20,000, I think I'd be gone!

For any other game without the extra £1k, the £75k going would be bad news.

Oh no, not THAT chant! :x
