"It seems that the dream is slipping beyond your grasp," Noel suggests.

The offer does go down, as it had to. How far?

"Lucia, please think about this so carefully."

It didn't go down.

Banker's offer:

£17,000

The Loser Train's ready to pull out of the yard as soon as the dispatcher gives me the go-ahead.
She better take this. Seriously.

If she doesn't take this offer, she's a complete idiot.

Lucia reacts in a way that suggests she recognises it ought to be taken. "You only need to knock out one and it's done, finished."

Deal-Eye would take this with the £100k replaced by the quarter-million. It's that obvious a Deal to the statisticians. Mark asks if she believes £100,000 is on the table. "It's your choice," insists Michael. This game is reminding me why family members generally do interfere with the game.

DEAL! "I am going to make my dream come true."

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Tuned in to see £17,000 offered on that scenario. That is very generous! Sensible deal.

"I wanted to go on, really I did." The reality check paid off. "I think you earned that money. You really did," says Noel.

ROUND 6 (proveout)

Box 19 (Paulina) - £250
Two to go.

Box 21 (Joyce) - £1
Oh god. I fear for tomorrow's player here.

"How much more would be offered" on a £5k/£100k finish?

Box 20 (Laura) - £5,000
Wrong red.

"What massive contrast!" This will be an offer that would be considered inflated for anyone else. Noel lampshades this.

"You're not the only one with spicy meatballs." Don't ask.

Banker's offer would've been:

£34,000

We could have a draw here, folks!

Aw, no. Not £100,000 on the table after an offer and deal like that. :(

Yet another player who takes a very sensible deal, and gets made to look stupid purely because big money is on the table. :(

Massive blow that the Bankers Gamble wasn't offered...

One more no deal... she may have gone for it.

"We will never, ever know, in all honesty, whether £34,000 would have been enough to stop you." Now we find out whether Noel gets to chastise Lucia for having a reality check, minutes after telling her to do.

Box 5 has £100,000. "I'm gutted. I've got to say that, I'm really gutted. I should have followed my own conviction to the end... but here guys, £17,000..."

Tellingly, it's that last bit where the crowd applaud.

Box 8 had the £10. The Banker is thanked for starting her dream.

Here comes the rave.

The rave was to "Shake Ur Body" by Shy FX (and I think there was a much longer artist collaboration credited). The song's eleven years old and firmly at the pop end of "drum and bass", was hoping for Nero or Pendulum there :)

I don't know if what she did was good or not. It started her dream, but she undersold her box. However, the board was looking incredibly dangerous at that point, so maybe it was for the better. Who knows?

FFS. A really good offer leading to a sensible deal, but having £100,000 in the box means team hindsight will have an absolute field day.

I hate this game sometimes.

The forum, Facebook and Twitter will be going utterly BERSERK today!

It just sucks that she happened to have £100k in the box after such a sensible deal too. :(

Well...proven wrong by consequences. But only just. Through terrible fortune...

...wrong nevertheless, however.

Question. Are you a Wakeyist if your intention is to win £250,000, as is the aim of our game? I would suggest not. I suggest Wakeyism is something much more than just that.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Should have been more brave and followed her belief on to the end for the £100,000.

I'll be honest - I'd rather the £100k be in the box in a game like this where the offer dealt is so generous for the board that only people like non-mad Mark would have no-dealt, as opposed to one where nearly everyone would have no-dealt - I mean to another player the banker could easily have offered around £5,000 on that 5-box AND it been dealt, and that would have been a heck of a sight worse. :(
