I love that the offer in rupees would have been lower by the time it aired! Presumably still paid in sterling?

She went further than I expected, and that was an astonishing see-saw proveout, quite something to watch.

Just out of interest, I looked to see how much 1p is in Rupees.
1p = 0.879796 INR as of today

This is inordinately geeky, but according to my currency exchange rate source (xe.com) the £/rupee exchange rate was 0.01856 on October 9 and 0.01855 on October 10, and has been lower since.

So recording must have been on one of those days ;)

Of course it would have been paid at the rate at the time of filming not airing!

Saw someone hint on Twitter that there would be a millionaire on DOND today but I didn't twig that it would be in another currency.

Hard to judge 4/4 boards - especially one as polarised as today but it was yet another cautious deal again today. 5-box offer was more than it probably would have been in live play (but not by a lot)

So Deepa went one round too early but she avoided the dreaded penny. I'd call that a good result.

Making the offers in ruppees was a canny move by the Banker, clearly the offers hit home.

That moment with Adamu was irather touching , Noel effectively stepping out of charecter for a few moments to console him

Deepa scored what I call a "Mad Mark OPW." What is that, you ask? It's when someone sells off the penny, regardless of the amount of the offer. Congrats to her :smt023.

I think one of the best deals ever made in the 25-year history of this show involved someone selling the dreaded "p" for some ridiculous amount of money, and then getting one hell of a Mad Mark OPW / regular OPW in the process. I don't know when it happened, nor do I know amount of the deal, but I'm sure one of our beloved (?) stats people will.

Might Alex, who sold the penny for £88,000 in October of 2010, be the game you're on about ?

I think someone dealt at £88k on a 1p/QM finish once and had the penny. Julie in season 1 sold it for £33k and that too was an OPW.

That is Alex's game from 18th October 2010.
