We're back...

The Banker calls, and says, if Billy has an all-blue round, the next offer will be £18,000.

Billy asks for a show of hands on who would no deal, and it is mixed. Kayleigh says the Banker might be trying to entice Billy into a crash. The Banker calls back, and says, if Billy has an all-blue round, the next offer will now be £20,000!

Billy says:

DEAL

Shocking advice from Dean and Lamin there which doesn't bode well for their games.

Taking out the £100,000 would in no way destroy the game with two sizeable sums still in play at 5-box.

...and he bases his decision on the 'relevancy' of previous games box amounts. Bah.

Round 5 - proveout

Box 1 with David - 50p

Uh oh, not one of those where you left at the wrong time, says Noel.

Box 18 with Mick - £100,000 :D

Oh yes, says Noel. So £20,000 was never on the agenda, he says.

Box 13 with Kayleigh - £10,000

Banker time...

That is an irony, says Noel, as £20,000 was the projected offer, and now it's the highest left.

Banker's offer would've been:

£1,800

The Banker wonders if Billy will be tempted to go for £20,000 again.

Banker's offer:

BANKER'S GAMBLE

Billy says he's almost always picked blues, and Box 3 is his other number. The Banker calls and guarantees the swap if Billy takes the gamble.

Billy says:

NO DEAL

He keeps the £8,000.

'That which must not be named' being utilised for the first time since July.

Not a gamble I would be taking. With his 'logic', he'll be declining this pretty confidently.

Billy says he'd have swapped. Noel hypo-swaps Billy's Box 16 for Mev's Box 3.

Noel reveals £20,000 in Billy's new Box 3. :(

Billy's original Box 16, now with Mev, contains the £500.

Billy says £8,000 will clear his debts, and he has no regrets. :D

Hard to argue with either £8k decision there. It goes down as an OPW pedantically, but the fact it's not being presented as one might provide a counterweight to the influence Esher's game will doubtless have on next week's players.

What was £6,969 about? Sometimes I wonder if the Banker has a dirty mind.

Oh how much I was glad to see the Bankers Gamble happen again, as next week would have been 3 months since it last happened. Good job he hasn't forgotten about them. Sadly it was the wrong choice not to take it.

If he didn't have any debts, most likely he may have gone for it.

If he didn't say no deal when he did then the next round probably would have forced him to go on, then who knows what would have happened.

Long, long, long time (5 years) lurker, first time poster. I come here every day as I only catch the last 1/2 hour on +4 most days. I love all the commentaries and most of the posts,

Any road up, my theory is this recession has changed the way the games go, people are a lot more cautious these days and therefore are dealing earlier, when they see they can get a bit of money to definitely make tomorrow better rather then risk a lot. For tonight Mark said if he hadn't had debts he would have gone for it.

The Banker does indeed have a filthy mind, there were many times in the early years where this was made apparent and most recently with that woefully bad joke with Skevy. Sometimes, it makes for TV cringeworthy to the point where you find yourself considering a Keith Richards move and contemplating chucking the telly out the window.

To be fair after the previous days game it would have taken nerves of steel to take the bankers gamble and swap boxes.

Incidentally think Banker could have got him for far less than the 8 000. Think he was being overly generous on that offer.
