Round 6 - proveout

Noel E says that was an amazing offer and it was definitely a lifeline, which Noel would've been silly to throw away.

1 - Doogie - £1,000

19 - Scott - £75,000

4 - Mike - £100

Banker time with 10p and £15,000 remaining...

Except he dealt for £15,500.

The banker says he saw Noel and his brothers doing a rap at the hotel, and he asks if they'll rap the show out, which they agree to do!

Banker's offer would've been:

£6,500

It would not be a draw because the offer was £15.5K, higher than both boxes that remain.

Box 21 with Calvert contains the £15,000

Noel says he's feeling fantastic.

Noel E says everyone is invited to SHOW 2,000 tomorrow.

Noel and his brothers perform a rap to finish the show!

Very sensible call; arguably, a little late timewise, but still very wise. Good job!

Good game to send us into the 2,000th show.

Very, very good offer... he DEFINITELY will take this...

Fixed! ;)

It would've been reckless to decline £15,500 with a 60% chance of hitting the £75k!

Well at least he realised where the point was when the board became too risky to turn down a really generous offer.

Ironically, the only way not to take a decent amount out of this game was to be an OHO.

And there is a good example of when NOT to listen to advice. The 15 or so people who said No Deal are CRAZY to decline an offer like that!

A good timed deal even though it wasn't the highest in the game.

Even if Noel did take a risk I certainly wouldn't have, at least he only turned down generous offers when the board was stable and he got out before it was too late - for the banker to only drop £1,500 was really good for the amount of damage he did.

And that rap on the end reminded me of C30 C60 C90 Go by Bow Wow Wow. :laughing

Well he won more than I would have done. :P

Stonking generosity throughout - they obviously figured Noel would play the way his namesake advocates, and for a while he (and the wingers - did their memory banks suddenly revert back to Nong's game or something?) did just that, but in his defence a board that stable is not easy for a non-mathematical player to walk away from, as a lot of people will think "there's this many higher and not many blues, I can take a gamble on this board" not realising that there's little reward in doing so.

So no questions except one - what about tomorrow?

Totally with you on that. I consciously didn't bother tuning in for the first part of the show because I knew this was what Noel's intro was going to be about!

When I did tune in I was a little perplexed by all the banter about the Noels being father and son, but more perplexed by the generosity of the offers - that £15k at 11-box must be one of the most generous ever with the top two gone! Whatever Noel was doing, he was doing it right - playing on when the board was stable then stopping when it began to slip from his favour.

Well Mr Edmonds certainly jinxed contestant Noel's game banging on about a male Quarter millionaire before he'd even opened a box. Now I'd have been as happy as anyone I'm sure to see Contestant Noel scoop the big prize but it would also be nice if Host Noel could let the game get to a realistic point before he started referencing the possibility

Anyway, not a bad result for Contestant Noel on a board that looked stronger than it was because the reds were so tightly blocked. He went one round too late but I don't think the difference in the offers was sufficient enough for him to have any real regrets over that
