I feel that's one round too early.

But looking at the time left, it might not be.

It was a mistake, says Noel.

Banker's offer would've been:

£24,000

Personalised game, personalised offer, personalised decision. Not an offer I think I'd have taken but Jean made the right decision for herself, and didn't seem too disappointed when she found out she could have had more.

Noel was remarkably kind during that proveout though - when the £15k was found in the first post-deal box his reaction was quite understated (which it perhaps should be, as it doesn't tell us much) - I could easily imagine him going "No! Not good enough!" to another player or in a different era!

Did have her down as slightly cautious but when she said that stuff, it changed to very cautious.

Could have had twice the money, but oh well, £12,000 is always a good result. :D

Couldn't have summed it up better myself.

I've seen many worse deals at 8-box than £12k on a "Schrodinger's one-box game" (£250k + several middle reds) configuration. Another game where it's better to go too soon than too late, and the player does the former.

Surprised nobody's pointed out it's a technical draw - is that result really that unremarkable now?

Not a bad decision at 8-box. Both that offer and 5-box one were ones that were well pitched - neither overly stingy or overly excessive.

The draw seems a fair result.

Wasn't exactly convinced my Noel's 'coin toss' analogy in the intro today, when discussing Dave's game, as I'd worked out he essentially had a 70% chance of a better offer, 30% of a lower offer. Coin-flip is the lazy term used when people don't know the odds, in my opinion.

The £35k was there, I wouldn't call that a 'middle red' personally, and provides enough stability to the £250k to stop it being a one-box game scenario for me there.

A slightly cautious deal and there was one more round in it, but Jean made a profit on her box all the same so certainyl not a disaster
