Hmm so people want to be a moderator to stamp out debate?? Really? So your idea of being a mod is to only allow quiet peacefull posts that you feel comfy with? Sorry, a forum is for people to post and debate in non abusive ways. There are 2 sides to every argument and both sides should be seen and heard. I agree with very little Mark says, but I wouldnt want to stop him saying it, and would like the chance to make him realise the error of his ways!

This is a DOND forum, not "Meek and Mild weekly"

You are probably shortly going to realise why you arent a mod yet!!

I post on Rugby League forum and there is a lot more rubbish allowed to be spouted on there than there will ever be on here (and they have a lot more moderators on the forum)

*sigh*

It's not debate that I wish to stamp out - it's bullsh*t.

IMHO, debate is only debate if it is reasonable and constructive - like the points that KP and Simon make after most games.

But most of the stuff that Mark says is neither reasonable nor constructive.

And he does border on being abusive sometimes - for instance, he called £8k Rob a wimp after that hypo-swap.

Again without any disrespect intended, I honestly can not see him realising the error of his ways - no matter what.

I honestly believe that even if everyone ignores him completely, he will still respond to every underselling of a Power 5 amount - no matter how bad it is - with "Oh dear... oh dear... oh dear... should have been a LOT more brave". And he will still spit at every third-round deal - again, no matter how bad it is - and at every 5-box deal with one blue and four reds. AND he'll still point out every instance where the player had a big amount the previous day, and say afterwards "It would have been better if he/she had played yesterday where that big amount was up for grabs, though he/she would probably have blown the chances of winning it."

And, above all, he'll continue to not give any damn whatsoever what others think of the things that he says - unless they (mostly unintentionally) agree with him.

So I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with those who feel that these forums do not need another moderator at the moment.

They do - and quite soon, too, IMHO.

This is the thing. There's nothing wrong with Mark having an opinion, the problem is the way he expresses it.

And I honestly can not see him changing that way if things stay as they currently are. :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

Guess I was right then, you do want only posts you like on here. Oh well. Freedom of speech and all that!! If you dont want to involve yourself with what Mark says, dont read his posts or respond. Simples.

Persoanlly I would rather spend my time trying to retrain Marks views than I would trying to silence him.

Even more cautious than Mani but the way Valerie said Deal was so heartfelt, I desperately wanted it to work out for her. While (I hope) I would never be as vindictive as Mark with any other player I probably wouldn't have been as forgiving but with Valerie I'm going to make an exception, she seemed far too sincere for me to criticise her

Once again, no disrespect intended - but I honestly believe that trying to retrain Mark's views would be like trying to cut through rock with a plastic knife.

As in, it's virtually impossible.

Don't forget, I have been on these forums for over a year and a half... :eyes: ;)

Looks like it's a good thing I was away this weekend.

Definitely a cautious deal, but not too daft, and cruel to be deprived of a third offer OPW in the final round. :(
