If my calculations are correct (and I'm sure I'll be corrected if they're not), the odds of an 11-box board with all the top 8 amounts taken out is 1 in 1938.

When you start playing a £3k jackpot game at 11-box, the stakes are low enough that I think you can just about not really bother about whether the decisions the player makes are right or not. In the end, he made the right one at 2-box, otherwise Noel might have been mentioning Sam in the same breath as Nikki Tucker et al for months to come.

It's never guarrenteed unless the £250,000 is in play.

given how the Banker's mind works I would say it was a high probability at the very least
