She had her chance but blew it BIG BIG BIG time.

Laura says she is gutted that she didn't have the guts to play on, but the £18,000 will do so much for her.

Someone should have reminded her at 8 box what she had yesterday.

She might have taken it the other way, and thought that she wouldn't have it again.

Another cautious deal, and a horrendously unlucky proveout. Seems to have been happening a lot lately.

Utterly predictable deal! I knew she would as it was 4:41. Sometimes I hate how easy it is to predict what the player would do. I actually wished she went over the max now.

I get the impression that that's exactly what would have happened.

We talk about people who deal just because the 1p is still there, and we say that they are "pennyphobic".

Well, I'll tell you what, Laura was clearly BLUEphobic...

And this might seem like a horrible remark - but by being bluephobic, she's left a pretty big stain on the previously impeccable record of contestants named Laura.

The bubble may not have burst - but it has certainly deflated considerably...

I believe CYANophobic is the term, as has been used by KP on here previously, IIRC.

Anyway, I thought the 8-box twist was intriguing, the £18,750 ceiling about right, and no complaints at the Deal. Psychics and Wakeyists are entitled to their own misguided opinions.

There is to me however. She could have had an extra £82,000 !

Oh well. She's happy with what she has.

I'm sure she is, but she could have had a top of the range wedding... and could have done a lot more with what she said she wanted to do.

But with the £100k, £50k and £20k all still there, plus a very good fallback of £15k and £10k - and just two blues, don't forget...

I still say it was a very cautious deal and she was bluephobic.

What value would you have put on the box today (or would you have just made an outrageously large offer just so you wouldn't get an actual offer from the banker?

It would have been £20,000.

Tough call at 8-box but the 5-box offer (even though she took out 2 of the backups and the 10p) should have been a lot more than that for keeping the top 2 in play. At that point, It almost justified the decison to go on because taking out one of the top 2 would have probably have decreased her offer (it's a bit harder to work out the 5-box offers as it depends on which 2 of the other 6 boxes you take out in that scenario).

Even if you look in the long run from 8-box to 2-box, you are slightly more likely not to have either of the £50k and £100k in play at 2-box than to have 1 of them so the deal wasn't that crazy. Sadly she hit the 1 in 28 chance of leaving both of them to the end.
