The Banker will be very happy now says Noel. The Banker says that Robbie took a gamble and it was a courageous move.

Banker's offer:

£13,000

Top two and nothing else at 8-box - what I call the "Donna" configuration.

A stick would set up a huge decision here. We don't get one.

I introduced utility theory to the forums. Blame me.

Classic 2-box scenario here. £100k/peanuts probably won't be 5 figures even. £250k/peanuts might be a stick. Keep both and we're looking at £26k probably.

I'm undecided here but probably going on just about.

I couldn't take one-third of the mean when it's not even a one-box game personally.

Robbie goes to Rich, who says he would struggle to deal now. The Banker asks to speak to Robbie's partner, and he tells her that she seems to be the brains between her and Robbie. She tells Robbie that he should seriously consider dealing here. Noel asks Robbie's partner how much the Banker has offered her to get Robbie to deal, as she is really trying to get him to deal now. Robbie tells Noel that he is ready for the question, but just as Noel asks it, the Banker calls back and asks to speak to Robbie's partner again, and she tells Robbie to DEAL! Robbie asks her if the Banker has told her something, and she says that he will find out if he deals and he should trust her now. Everyone on the wings starts to tell Robbie he should perhaps DEAL as something is going on.

Robbie says

NO DEAL

All the pilgrims cheer for that response, and Noel wonders what went on in the telephone call. He then calls a break....

So the producers have taken one of this forum's Wakeyist tropes, the "contestants are wimps because of their partners" one, and specifically tried to implement it.

Definitely the right decision to play on here in my book...

Blackmail is just NOT FAIR! I hate it when he rings back the moment the player asks for the question.

I'd have been tempted to yank the cable out of the phone!

This could be as low as £9k here.

The Banker admits that he cut a little deal with Robbie's partner, and if she got him to deal there was an extra £5,000 in the offer.

Banker's offer:

£8,000

I'd be loathe to deal this but I think I'd have to reluctantly take it.

A perfectly reasonable bailout on a one-box game.

I would have been deeply uncertain if the offer was £18k straight up at 8-box. Didn't the Banker do this at 5-box with someone called Lucie once?

Marios tells Robbie it is just a pure gamble now. Robbie's partner asks what he wants to do, and he says he wants to play on, but it could all go so wrong. The Banker calls back and says that if Robbie plays on he will let him open just one box, due to the games he played just now.

Robbie says

NO DEAL
