Now it's going to get serious.

Noel says Brian is the first person to spot a piece of confetti falling down and saying it's an omen after the £250,000 has already gone.

Banker's offer:

£17,000

I'd go on with three of the Power 5 still there as well as a good £15k fallback.

The clock suggests Carland will, too...

Carland asks from some advice from Rich and Carland explains that his wife Katie is not a risk taker, which is why she's not in the audience. The Banker then rings up and says that Rich is a good reader of the board and agrees with what he said. The Banker goes on and says if Carland has the perfect round he'd offer around £30,000, but if he had the nightmare round he'd offer less than £1,000 and the Banker says he'd deal at this point as there's more to lose than gain.

Carland says

NO DEAL

Yes, stable enough to go on here, £20k would have been tricky.

£30k would be spectacularly stingy after an all-blue round. I'd expect that for a blue/£3k/£15k round.

We're back

Round 5

17 - Helen - £50,000

Surely not the nightmare round says Noel.

11 - Greg - £100,000

It would be amazing says Noel if the Banker's scenario comes true for the nightmare round.

9 - Imani - £3,000

Banker time

Carland says it's a good offer for the board. He asks Greg for some advice and says it's a difficult decision. A few others give some advice.

Noel says that's a spectacular gamble and didn't have Carland down as an OHO at the start of his game.

Round 6

20 - Candice - £5

21 - Jim - £75,000

13 - Jackie - £10

Banker time with £1 & £15,000 remaining.

Even after taking the top amount off the board, we still have a finish which has produced a £6k offer recently.

£4,500 is a reasonable escape, and a well-judged offer. I'd probably just about take it.

Noel asks Carland if he's willing to take one more risk. He then asks Carland what his wife Katie would think. Mike thinks that his box 8 has the big money in it and that Carland says it's his lucky number.

Neither decision wrong there; a gamble is certainly not surprising given that he is what poker players would call "pot committed".
