Sam's game today.


Noel welcomes us to the start of a brand new week, and wants to build on the positive feel Nicki brought to her game yesterday even though she didn't have a great result. He goes along the wings and chats to a few of the more positive players.

I wonder if Noels tubthumping about optimism at the intro was aimed at him As in they already they know who they are choosing to play the game.

I hate to say it but you could be right Mark. If they have a power5 the game before they are chosen, its a bit of a curse.

Sam has box 19 today.

Noel has to take Sam back to the front of the pound table as he puts his box on the table the wrong way around. Sam is a trainee plumber. He has his girlfriend in the audience for support today, and Noel reveals that she had to push Sam to fill in his application form for the show as he didn't have any confidence that he would get on the show. Sam explains how he was laid off from his old job around 6 months ago, and since then his girlfriend has been brilliant and supported him while he is training to be a plumber. Sam also has his mum in the audience for support. We get to see some of Sam's photos, and there is one of Sam's dad looking a little worse for wear after one drink, but he has another 3 lined up in front of him!

Noel asks Sam for a bit more enthusiasm, as he doesn't want a dip in the game at the start. The Banker says he hasn't been looking forward to this game as Sam is liked so much. He does like the fact that Sam was laid off on Christmas eve, and likes his old boss's style!

hmm now thats a kick in the teeth and you see its knocked the wind out of his sails. Noel is putting a lot of effort into furiously trying to keep him going. It seems like a long arduous journey to the finale - we're not even at 11box!

He's jinxed it by saying in the throw to the break; "sam is going to win a huge amount of money... sam is quiet but determined... sam is going to be a wealthy young man"
