Fred's game today.

Noel says there's a marvellous array of contestants at the moment, and he says he's recently been looking through the files and has found lots of connections. Noel says Tabitha doesn't trust men with mullets, mullets are fish, and Kerrie doesn't like fish and so on! He finishes by saying Gordon's full name is Gordon Kay, who is the name of the actor who was the star of 'Allo 'Allo!, and that's Terry's favourite show!

Fred has box 22.

Fred is a retired HGV driver, and tells a story of how he once went to Bristol in the middle of winter, but faced some problems. He ended up sleeping in his trailer and got stuck in it as it snowed and freezed the door shut! He says he had to wee along the edge of the door to de-ice it. Noel says that could be a film called Urine Trouble!

We get to see a pic of Fred's late wife and his daughter. He talks about how his world collapsed when his wife died, and he reads a little poem about her. Fred also shows a pic of him with his son, and he shows a Cyprus fridge magnet for the banker. Fred says if he wins lots, he'll split it between him and his children.

£9k is an amazing offer having taken out the £100k. I'd have expected about £6-8k.

Certainly an opening round in the rough proximity of average - I defined three blues/£100k/orange as average, this replaced the third blue with £15k, but slight compensation is the fact that the orange is £1k and the blues are 1p and 10p. Certainly not a first round that will define the game.
