Was Barnaby's band's name mentioned at all? I missed the intro and I often do radio interviews and other work with Essex bands, so I'm wondering if I've heard of them.

It was mentioned during the intro, and they're called The Candy Runts - http://www.thecandyrunts.com/

Thanks for that. I have heard of them, I've seen the name on various local gig listings & posters recently.

I do trip over my words sometimes so if I ever do interview them I'd have to be very careful when introducing them... :laughing

I had one last look at the trailer on YouTube today and saw a few things that hadn't been shown as yet - Loz and Barnaby's kiss (so it was clear one of them would play today), Fred being escorted away, someone in the audience I didn't recognise and a pitch invasion - and I was sure when Max got one on Tuesday, it wasn't shown from that angle. So with that in mind, I was hopeful today would be a good result - although not too hopeful of a big win, as this lot do take the "any excuse" route with their pitch invasions!

Honestly, they're like a bunch of school kids :P

Nice feelgood game to end the season, I think the Banker was right when he said that losing the £250k forced Barnaby to go much deeper into the game than he might have done, I'm sure that with a stronger board he probably would have dealt at 5 box or even before.
The Catapault proved something of an anti-climax and I'm sure Icelolly.com will be glad to see the back of it even if the Banker isn't.

The feelgood ending that KP predicted happened. When the banker offers something that low at 5-box, there's no option but to gamble. Would have been interesting to see how they would have played it on the £3k/£15k and £15k/£35k finishes but we'll never know.

Thanks for to all the commentators on here and everyone who has voiced their opinions this year (even those that I don't agree with).

I'd be fascinated to see where Deal Eye went today, the 14-box offer was incredible generous (going up when the mean and FD decreased from the previous offer)

Deal-Eye would have gone at 14-box, and it wasn't even marginal (it wanted a slither over £10k). As I wasn't watching the show, only following the commentary, I totally missed that generosity - I'd probably have gone there myself if I was in the chair as I'd have seen it as an incredible opportunity to leave Noel utterly flabbergasted. (Would have been a dramatic proveout too, TPW and OBW both possible right to the end. Not an OPW, the 11-box hypothetical would have been close to £20k to make the Deal look bad.)

I thought I caught a muffled expletive at the end when they all pitch invaded. But I must be wrong as surely deal would have edited that out and someone else would have commented. Anybody hear what was said?

To me, this was the game the banker wanted to play at Xmas 2008 with Butch but didn't have the chance to as Butch avoided the £35k on the wings. :)

I think everybody could tell what the Banker was upto; trying to get Barnaby to swap for the other box with so much lyrical emphasis on the number and losing everything with it...luckily he knew better and decided not to swap!

A bit late posting here but thanks for another great year! I've not been able to make it on here anywhere near as much as previous years but will definitely get back into the swing of things come August 29th :D
