The banker says Ovie knows this game is nearly over, and Noel tells the banker not to overdo it.

Banker's offer:

£4,000

And suddenly £4,000 is a very attractive offer...the mood of the game suggests that £250,000 isn't going to hang around much longer...but there's no way I could take £4,000 with it in play!

Noel says the banker described the offer as a lifeline. Ovie asks for the question, and the banker phones back to say Ovie's being too hasty and he's certain the £250,000 will go in the next round.

Ovie says

NO DEAL

Even losing £35,000 here would see the offer finally increase...just as long as the £250,000 stays!

Round 4

The banker rings again and asks if anyone has popcorn, as he wants to enjoy the story of the end of the man's dream.

16 - Dennis - £1

1 - Paul - £35,000

Noel says that was disastrous really, and he calls a break.

I called it!!!

But scarily, the round isn't over! There's a massive amount of tension in this game already...one of those "Chris Deary" games!!!

Down to one box already...you can just tell this has "blue win" written all over it...

Not really, there's enough reds there to fall back on...but the £250,000 definitely has to stay if Ovie's going to get anything more than £4,000 out of this game!

We're back

Last box before the Banker

Noel talks about the personal circumstances that Ovie shared with us at the start of the game, and he reminds us of the banker's prediction.

2 - Dai - £10,000

Banker time

Not the biggie but still, that board is so dangerous

The only reason I'm slightly pessimistic about this game is that there tends to be a nasty pattern where those who really need the money end up winning a blue...

...and that was far from ideal!

Noel says you have to have a lot of belief as the £250,000 is so exposed. The banker says this is a reasonably enjoyable movie so far, and says this board is highly unusual. He asks Harry what to do, and Harry says the banker needs to remember that Ovie has a lot of courage. The banker says he'll make a very generous offer.

Banker's offer:

£6,000

Only the QM is higher than the offer, it's one of those offers that tests the player's courage

£6,000 is a great offer.

I'd only go on because I wouldn't want to enter the Hall of Fame for selling the £250,000 for the lowest amount...

Harry says he thinks that's a generous offer and Ovie agrees. The others point out that there's only one value above the offer, and that Ovie must be prepared to open his box if the £250,000 goes.

Ovie says

DEAL

Well that was unexpected, but can see why

£6,000 may be good for the time being but it wouldn't be good enough for the long run
