Haj explained that he didn't do very well at school, and explains that he now runs his own complimentary therapy academy. We get to see a pic of Haj's nieces and he explains one of his young relatives has a disease which means he won't be able to walk in a few years' time.
Self-employed, in something that sounds a bit up Noel's alley, with a sad family story, and not conventionally intelligent. If you were playing DoND Contestant Bingo, that would at least be one row on a list of things to look for.
No holiday giveaway in the opening round. Maybe Dennis's twist should have been all-or-nothing but win or lose, if you take the gamble you win a holiday. I'm going to have to work out the odds of no holiday wins this week later.
The round itself was only just below-average even with the £100k hit. First offer? £NO_DEAL, obviously. They've made it perfectly clear they will destroy the integrity of the game to prevent dealing before the ADP, what's the problem with a first-offer joke?
Oh, that's just beautiful irony. "Noel tells Haj to be more confident" - which is DoND-code for "be more of a gambler" - then "gets everyone to cheer him", so that the audience can be part of this fervent din. Next box? Why, yes, it's the jackpot. And having wished some bad luck unfairly on Haj for that, the 1p going next makes it even better.
"Whacking on the head with a coconut?" Flipping heck, anyone else getting really, really,
really uncomfortable memories of Jeannie's game? Joke offer, obviously...
All-blue, and crikey, that's a higher offer than Jeannie got in all of her game, and on a £75k-high 11-box! I've just done the maths, and I'm quite possibly Dealing just to make a point. It might just be sufficiently marginal financially for me to sacrifice potential gains on this board to make a point. "There's a twist coming, and we really want you to go on so that we can see that twist in action, but it's up to you mate, it's up to you".
Haj follows the producers' wishes and promptly takes out a key safety net and then the top box. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
