Julie's game today.

Noel says he was asked the other day where the £26,000 offer came from and he explains it all started with one game and it snowballed from there. He then talks about how £21,500 is becoming a recurring theme.

Julie has box 8.

Julie is a farmer from Scotland and she explains that she's originally from Lancashire. She says she fancied a change as she ran an off-licence which had long hours. She says her farm is her little patch of heaven and her and her husband have done lots of work to the farm and the farmhouse. We get to see a before and after pic of the farmhouse, and a pic of her daughter. We also get to see a pic of her mum who's in the audience today, and a pic of her late dad.

Here we go....

Banker's offer:

£7,500

Where *did* the £26,000 offer come from? The first eleven-box Deal was made for that amount and was a sizable OBW (£50k in the box, even more offered at five-box) but for some reason, despite the twin fixations with £26k and the ADP, I understand this fact has never been mentioned on air. Note: this is not an invitation for that to change. £21,500 as a new recurring motif to join £26k? I remember when £16,500 was a recurring motif...

Anyway, we have a game, and Julie has gone from night-owl off-license owner to the lark-like hours of a farmer. That's quite impressive. Paul lives on a farm in Essex but isn't a farmer? That probably means he's the son of a farmer or something. Frustrating opening round really, rather than a truly bad one; opening offer is in line with recent high generosity patterns at this stage.

Oh heck, another Power 5. Oranges aren't that good either on this board now...

Two years ago this game's introduction would have been dominated by her battle with cancer.

How much better is this show now for embracing genuine personality rather than playing up personal tragedies?

The offer is again not particularly surprising.

Ten-box break? Wow.

This game's effectively a washout now.
