Not a particularly good board so far, but it could be worse. £7,000 is good; I'd take it.

Joyce is annoyed that the offer's gone down and not up. Chris tells her to think about the money. Joyce asks if the banker will give her £10,000. She then says she wants £5,000 and she'd deal.

The banker phones back and says NO DEAL. :P It's £4,000 or nothing, he says...

Joyce says NO DEAL

£7,000 was a good offer, and one that I'd probably be taking.

Box 21 with newbie Hazel contains the £20,000

Joyce says the money will do a heck of a lot for her as she's never had that much money in 74 years of her life so far!

Fair play, yet again the big money disappeared early so the meaningful money was paramount to a good win...

That reminded me a lot of Helen's game - not a big money show but very entertaining throughout. Joyce was slightly bonkers but had a good heart and brought her full personality to the game, and a character to be missed for sure. I also thought it would be Jean today, so she might last 'till love week now!

Is there ever gonna be a game where the big ones stay longer than the second round, there seems to be a curse going on...

Sometimes with a big charector like Joyce their personality can become overpowering and the game gets a little lost but for all her outgoing vivaciousness and fun Joyce did seem to be taking the game seriously.

It was a fun show, not a lot of luck (the first offer was the highest by a fair margin) but full of zest and with an underlying heart. I thought she pushed her luck a little asking the Banker to up the offer twice - you can get away with that once if you're lucky but twice is asking for trouble - and at one point i did wonder if she was going to go all the way regardless, but the mask slipped in those final moments. There's a lot more to Joyce than you see on the surface, I think to an extent the Banker underestimated her.

The kind of game that makes DOND so great. A player with a wonderful character who pretty much got the most out of her game. It did seem towards the end that we might get another gambling older lady who was going to get a nice red box win but luckily she dealt an offer which I thought might have been a grand or two more.

I'm actually surprised that with Joyce living in Bristol and having an infatuation with Noel that she hadn't been a pilgrim before applying for the show.
