You've got to feel happy about that says Noel, and he thinks Dave will have a dilemma now. The Banker is a little worried that Dave says he is willing to gamble and he wants to end this madness

Banker's offer:

£22,000

Dave says this is one of the most difficult decisions he has had to make. Noel says that all the big winners on the show have had to face a similar decision on the way to their big wins. Dave asks for a sweep of the wings. All apart from Jean say NO DEAL.

Dave says

NO DEAL

Oh my word says Noel, that was a sensational start to the round and you just about escaped from the round. The Banker says he has great respect for Dave for declining that last offer.

Banker's offer:

£17,000

Noel says he thinks that the Banker could have hit Dave much harder than that. Dave says that money could make things so much easier for him, but there are still a couple of really big numbers on the board.

Dave says

DEAL

Noel says it could be a spanking. Surely not? He could have gone at £22K

Well, that's what you call a technical player win

Well I don't know about anyone else but even from quite an early stage I found that really tense! There were 2 rounds where I was on edge and the game only got to 5-box!

It's usually the player's circumstances - I always convince myself they're going to win a blue when they're in a situation like Dave, but fortunately this one worked out for him. Loved how thrilled he was with the money at the end of the game, and he'd turned down two dealable offers before dealing. Though I would have been slightly disappointed with an 8-box deal (despite the fact it would have been an OPW) as I thought the £22k was an insufficient improvement over the previous offer given the round in-between, and at least he didn't fall into the trap of thinking the game started at 8-box.

Though Joyce crying at opening the £250k in the first round really stunned me - it was like Judy but the difference was Judy opened it in Clare's game when it was the last big number, and today there were still loads of other big numbers left even with it gone. At least she was back in her old spirits when the banker phoned though! :)

I'm loving these games - the £250,000 is ALWAYS going early...but the rest of the money seems to be staying late on in the game!

Can't fault him for turning down £22,000 - it was a brilliant offer but the board was too stable to walk away from...as the following round and offer proved; almost a nightmare round and albeit because of bravery the offer was still £17,000!

Very interesting game. I'm glad that he decided to deal at 5 box because for a while it seemed like he was going to keep trying to chase the game. The 11-box and 8-box offers were both almost 2/3 of the mean whereas the 5 box offer was about 62%. Perhaps when the banker is being that generous with the offers so early, the player thinks that as long as the game doesn't crash in a single round, there is always going to be a decent offer to consider.

Personally, given Dave's financial circumstances, I was surprised he turned down the 2 previous offers before deaing, but at least he only missed out of £5k by gambling.

Well technically speaking Dave went one round too late but it was still a good result

After that very damaging first round it was a fantastic comeback and the money clearly meant a lot to Dave, which is what really matters.

Yes, strange that the £250,000 is departing boards quite early lately, yet fortunately the big money is staying in play - it's making for some stable boards and some difficult offers for the banker to make as there is reduced manoeuvrability. It means there's a fine line between a deal and a no deal.

It reminded me a bit of Noel's board at 5-box - it was slightly stronger with 5k instead of 3k and a higher blue, and he was offered £15k. In that scenario, having the 5k actually makes a difference to me personally and I would've no-dealt. Today, had I been offered £15k it would've been a fairly tough decision, as it was I'd have dealt at £17k like Dave.
