Bodie's game today.

Noel introduces the show from a sleigh. He says he thought the reindeer were trained!! Noel wishes everyone a Happy Christmas :smt114 :xmas:

He runs through the Santa vs Scrooge twist again, and says how Freddie did alright out of it, but Peggy yesterday only won £100 after finding Scrooge.

Santa vs Scrooge 2009 Gameplay:

If a player gets to 5-box, they can open a mince pie, a carrot or a bottle of sherry. There's 1 Scrooge and 2 Santas. If they reveal SANTA, they get an offer after every box and win a holiday for 2. If they find SCROOGE, then the banker looks in their box, their is no offer after every box but a SWAP at 2-box is guaranteed.

Bodie has box 9.

Bodie's real name is Andrew, and he's a sports coach. He says it's a rewarding job and he loves it! However his dream is to live in Australia, as he has an Australian girlfriend who's in the audience today. Noel attempts an Australian accent. :P We get to see a pic of his mum, and he explains that she was originally in Australia but hasn't been there for ages.

Here we go....

Let's hope this hour-long show is actually just a less brutal edit, and not some dastardly secondary twist or overtly manipulated Wakeyist game.

When was the last 1 hour show that wasn't a Christmas star episode?

Given that Noel seemed to publicise today's hour show at the end of Peggy's game yesterday without any obvious edit, I think we can't assume anything about this one.

Round 1

Bodie doesn't really have a system, and is letting fate guide his game...

The banker phones and says there's a gold envelope again with a mystery gift in which is worth £1,000. If Bodie hits one of the banker's Power 5 in the first round, he'll get the chance to give the gift to someone on the wings...

Beth first, and Noel says she's DEATH as she's had big numbers!

17 - Beth - £15,000

3 - newbie Shell - £100,000

20 - Jardi - £10

Haz now, who tells Bodie that if the PE teaching fails, he should do topless calendars! :P

14 - Haz - £10,000

21 - Sanjay - Noel calls a break

We get to see a shot of "CHRISTMAS PAST", and it's a clip from Lauren's game in Dec 2008 when she won £100,000!

Forgot that an hour show meant 3 breaks instead of 2, so instead of a 7-6-9 box opening split, we get a 4-6-6-6 split maybe?

Bonus break at 18-box!! Crumbs, this was planned!

First time there's ever been a break at 18-box; all previous hour-long episodes had the extra break before the first offer or at two-box (exception: Marcus in 2006, who dealt at eight-box - there was an adbreak mid-proveout if memory serves).

We're back

Last box before the Banker

21 - Sanjay - £35,000

Bodie didn't find one of the banker's power 5 in the opening round so he doesn't get to give the mystery prize to one of the others :(

Banker time

Noel says he'll take the gift now. :P The banker loves to see Christmas dreams shattered and he hopes Bodie's game goes even more badly now.

Banker's offer:

£900

I've got a feeling some of the Christmas Star episodes had a break before the game began.

I'm not sure the music whilst the boxes are being opened enhances the show to be honest either.

That's actually what I meant - before the first round. All of the hour-long shows that didn't have a break at two-box other than Marcus had one right at the start.

Round 2

Bodie says he's yet to have a really high red in his box, and thinks he's due one today...

10 - Adam - £20,000

Bodie says Adam looks like a mini Noel. :P

5 - Carmine - £1

11 - Tina - £250,000 :(

Banker time

Noel says this is a painful journey so far! The banker loved seeing that last round as Tina gave a Merry Christmas wish to Bodie. He says the game's a turkey and Bodie's stuffed!!

Banker's offer:

£90

Well it's not a manipulated £250k win then. Looks like a slower-paced, more entertaining and natural edit then.
