Well done on the £1,000, Dan. :) Could have been more but as I remember Noel saying once that the boxes are unforgiving. (Metaphorically speaking but true nonetheless).

Highlights being, and will agree with James1978. Noel falling out with the Banker (yesterday's game v Carol) and his sitting in the audience. Dan when answering the phone looked a bit bewildered.

That's a thought actually. When Noel asks any individual player if they have a system. I'd probably say "Yep. Let Noel pick the boxes. :D"

Phil.

Another one of those unavoidable trainwrecks alas, rubbish board from beginning to end. Top comedy though, and that's just the recurring motif with Carol - funny how we never got much of a mention of the same thing happening with Adrian 'The Plank' when he got a third-offer OPW in the depths of the Wakey Winter isn't it? :P

Sorry I've been away this week...had a couple of complications at home...

It's been a decent week Deal-wise though...loved Laura's game, Nicholas and Bessie at least got us on the edge of our seats, Carol disappointed ultimately but still gave us a great game...and today's was salvaged by a modest consolation after a simple unavoidable spiral downhill...

Last normal show on Sunday before the TRICK or TREAT twist has a long winning run to defend!

You get the feeling that could have been an interesting battle with a better board, but sadly for Dan that didn't materialise. 8-box with 20k as the top sum is never good really, and even with some oranges to back it up, he wasn't likely to get a takeable offer.

Great comedy 'fallout' with Noel and the Banker which provided most of the interest in the game sadly - and slightly bizarre that a member of the audience asked the question, I thought it was a rule that Noel had to ask it or something!

Anyway, unlucky for Dan, but we're all looking forward to the halloween shows now :D

Another player who just couldn't great a break. I don't think Dan had a single damage free round, that is terribly unlucky.

As others have noted we were cheated of a potentially memorable battle of wills between Dan & the Banker simply by bad fortune. On the plus side Noel and the Banker's little falling out added some much needed humour to the game.

Not much Dan could do about the way the boxes fell. Only real decision were at 5 box (when the oranges probably meant that no-dealing was the right thing to do) and at 2 box.

Great player deserving of a better run of boxes. Nothing you can do about that. At least he didn't have the 50p in his box, and it was a very entertaining game with the shtick between Noel and the Banker to keep the show light and and enjoyable despite the game pretty much being a non-starter.

I am a new-ish member and enjoy reading your discussions of the games but there are bits of jargon that you use that I can't work out. Would someone be so kind as to explain briefly what an OPW is or what are the qualities of a 'Wakeyist'? Cheers.

There's a dictionary of forum terms here.
