The sight of the 1p and 10p there at the moment is rather worrying... but after a round of £75k & 2 blues, this offer should really be about £20k.

It's 4 all now, and perfectly balanced says Noel, and the Banker agrees

Banker's offer:

£15,000

No need for a sad longing cello solo just yet, this game is looking decent. Two significant backups for the top prize is enough for me to be happy at this point.

Stick here is the first half-decent offer of the game. A cautious player could be forgiven for dealing this with the gap to the top prize, but the two backups are enough for me for now.

Edit: oh wait, I forgot the 100k was there, which makes a 15k offer go from 'decent get-out for the safe player' to 'crap'...

If he carries both £100k & £250k to 5-box then he's in for a whopping offer (or should be!). However if he ends up with a 5-box board of £250k (or £100k) and not much else, then there is cause for concern over the offer.

Top two plays peanuts, then.

I think I'd want thirty grand.

When was the last time we had a 5-box board of £100k, £250k & not much else? The offer has to be well over £30k now, but nothing would surprise me here.

I think Emi from July was the last - the sunburn twist made that one to remember...

Wow, you still have the top 2 in play and you can still produce the dream finish says Noel... The Banker says that with 3 blues still in play he will more than likely have a blue in his box...

Noel plays around with the offers and starts at £10,000 and raises it slowly to....

Banker's offer:

£26,000

The banker has pulled out his old faithful!

I would consider dealing here...

I would reckon a no deal here. A red has to come to the table soon.

Interesting that David thought he'd go down... and Noel's tactic of upping the offer is going to make this offer look even more attractive, whatever it is... and it's £26,000! The old faithful strikes for the first time in ages, and I think this would get me out here. The only way of getting a significantly higher offer would be to have the Dream Finish, as I reckon he'd throw an offer of about £40k in on a blue vs £250k final 2 in active play.

I said I'd look for thirty grand - Old Faithful is in play at precisely the right time.

I'd want the two-box guarantee here. That's a Deal for anyone who can't handle the 30% disaster chance but if you can, it's probably a No Deal. It's definitely a No Deal if you're prepared to treat this offer as the last and can take a 60:40 death-or-glory chance.

Noel talks about how this offer has worked so many times in the past for the Banker, but it has been a while since he has wheeled it out.

David says
